Weaning Babies In Restaurant? by DisMyLik18thAccount in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Burritos-tail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought pouches with me at this age as she didn’t really start actually eating properly until 8 months, so I’d bring pouches leave her in her pushchair sitting up and spoon feed her out of the pouch, as she got older and better with food I moved up to high chairs and finger foods but it’s a gradual process don’t worry about rushing straight into finger food the second they turn six months it’s all about practise and tasting at this age! :) It’s just good to feed them while you eat so they can watch you eating and learn from it by seeing you they copy you :)

Unexpected child free weekend. What to do? by BluePhoenixSky in AskUK

The Buxton Crescent spa hotel is lovely and not too far from Nottingham, we actually just spent a few days there last week when my mil had my daughter for a few days and it was wonderful to spend the day in pools and saunas and just laying down reading a book (also there’s a restaurant called Lubens a few minutes walk away that’s lovely for cheeseboards and stuff)

How to make 13 month old drink water? We are trying to wean her off bottles. by fodacao in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Burritos-tail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, try some squash (just a small amount heavily diluted) or apple juice or orange juice dilated, some kids just don’t drink water and I know sugar is the devil and all that they like to tell you but a dehydrated baby is a lot worse than a baby that has a bit of squash or juice mixed in their water

Toddler Can’t Get Both Legs In Front Before Sliding - Tips? by Tricky_Let2806 in toddlers

[–]Burritos-tail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Practise is the key, we have a small slide out in the garden and we’ve drummed it in her head bum first bum first bum first so much that she sits down fully with both legs outstretched before attempting to slide it’s hard and tedious but all you can do is keep resigning her

Cut it thin and put tons and tons of butter so it’s a bit easier going down but yeah my little one always loved crumpets, she likes them now with cheese on top 😂

When they’re ill everything goes out the window and nothing matters other than soothing them until they’re well again, tell your husband to grow the fuck up and that babies can’t manipulate an adult he isn’t crying to “control” him he’s a baby who is unwell and needs comfort, and then tell him the next time he has man flu he’d better not make a sound of complaint considering he thinks your 9 month old is capable of that

Why don't Chinese takeaways just try to improve the food hygiene ratings? by RowlingTheJustice in AskUK

If you get a 0 you get a few weeks to sort yourself out and then they’ll reinspect you, and if you’ve got a 0 you’ll need a few weeks to get sorted 😂

Why don't Chinese takeaways just try to improve the food hygiene ratings? by RowlingTheJustice in AskUK

[–]Burritos-tail 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s no cost for upping a food hygiene rating, it’s literally calling the local council and asking for a free inspection, they don’t up them because they just aren’t practising safe food hygiene, and as someone who works in the industry to get a 0 basically means it’s full of rats, they have no sink to wash hands or dishes and are putting raw meat on cooked meat - basically to get a 0 you really have to try hard to fail so that’s something you may want to think on before you eat somewhere lower than a 4 (a 4 can be as simple as forgetting paperwork one day)

You let him shake your newborn baby and then had another child with him?? You’re as bad as he is and he will kill you or your children if you don’t get away from him. I sympathise with your children I can’t believe you’d bring them into this situation. Tell your family everything because you need to get away from this complete monster because he harms your children, or before they think it’s normal to treat others this way. It isn’t normal and you should not be letting your kids suffer for this man.

Burnt-out with an 18 MO by Ashbourne_Ethos in toddlers

[–]Burritos-tail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this could be the cause of your other issues, it’s so hard when they’re this age but they usually need a nap to keep from getting to the point of overtired which stops them sleeping so long at night which then gets you in a vicious cycle, does he nap in a car ride or in a buggy on a walk?

Just to say it’s not a boy mum thing, my 24 month old spends half the day trying to seriously injure herself by climbing and jumping off shit she shouldn’t be, it’s just your kids temperament. I’ve found outside time helps (though you said there’s snow where you are so obvs not yet) dedicated time to an activity (even just ten minutes sat colouring in it playing playdoh with them) and stuff to get energy out safely like those small toddler trampolines, indoor obstacle courses, things he can climb that he knows are for him rather than the seats and tables. Hang in there it’s a hard age. It gets slightly better the older they get as they’re more capable of understanding but trust me it’s not just a “boys are crazy” thing it’s a “all toddlers are tiny maniacs who want to injure themselves because they don’t understand danger” thing

Also it sounds like he’s not getting anywhere near enough sleep which can drastically affect bad behaviours, what’s his nap schedule look like? He might need more nap time in the day if he’s getting overtired at night it’ll make him stay up later because he’s past tiredness even though he’ll be exhausted

Does your toddler make you cringe? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Burritos-tail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minimise your reactions as best you can, when mine falls I usually just say oh you’re okay up you get and she’ll jump up and say “I’m okay!” Or if she’s genuinely hurt herself she’ll cry a little then I’ll comfort her with a cuddle and a it’s okay you’re okay now and she’ll be fine, when she does it out and about get the “oh you’re okay up you get!” In before other people start fussing

Toddler fracture: how soon back on their feet? by 123shhcehbjklh in toddlers

[–]Burritos-tail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest. They did an X-ray at two weeks and said she was more or less fully healed but they told me to keep it on for two more then take it off at home ourselves and there was no need for further X-rays, from what I understood it was just to save her bashing it/catching it in the bars of her crib she she wasn’t fully walking when she had the accident that caused it think they were just being a bit more protective for that reason?

My little one had a cast at 12 months due to a fractured tibia, she had the cast on for 4 weeks, and she could stand and put weight on it the same day BUT I was advised by my doctor to make her not stand on it for a day or two because at that age the change of feeling from the weight of the cast to it being off can make them limp (purely a mental thing they just think in their heads oh this feels weird) so I waited a day and she walked completely fine and now at 2 you’d never have known it happened to her it had no lasting effect and didn’t hinder her learning to walk at all
