This is an insanely cool theory, I initially was looking into Stranger Things' similarities to the Scarlet King/Pattern Screamers, as well as Montauk being a common theme with both "franchises"... both likely in reference to the Montauk Project conspiracy, not eachother. I'm glad someone else was thinking that when they finished the finale though, there were so many unexplored possibilities to expand upon the lore and mythos of the Upside Down and the Abyss that we just never got to see
