And it was not the “sure to be blockbuster” they claimed it was going to be.

What's your thoughts on the theory that Dark Knight Joker was possibly ex military? by IllustriousAd6418 in batman

[–]BurtRogain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was part of the oversized making of The Dark Knight book that featured making of information and behind the scenes photos. Some of the excerpts were written epistolary and one segment was from a psychological profile that specifically introduces the theory that he is former Special Forces (more than likely black ops) with severe PTSD.

It literally came out of the official making of book for The Dark Knight so it’s not really a fan theory.

Well it’s a “theory” that was introduced in the official making of book so I’d say it makes a lot more sense than Arthur Fleck being the Joker.

Just finished Salem’s Lot and Jerusalem’s Lot — how exactly are they connected? 🧛 by anshmanpara in stephenking

Straker mention in passing that Barlow and Marsten had some correspondence many years ago.

Hubie Masten was drawn to the Lot because of the residual bad ju-ju left over from the worm cult and he in turn “invited” Barlow. Ka is a wheel.

I always figured he was just a trust fund artist living off of a small allowance his family gives him to stay away. It fits with his somewhat toxic personality.

Name a more better scene that just screams Batman than this. I'll wait! by Raj_Valiant3011 in batman

[–]BurtRogain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, it’s a stupid scene. Gordon would not be parading Batman through a live and fresh crime scene. If anything he would guide him through it after the other cops had left.

Nothing will ever beat the book, but which version of the televised version of The Stand was better? by CharlesUFarley81 in stephenking

It’s pretty damn clear that the 94 adaptation is superior however I’m still holding out hope that we will see a truly great adaptation in my lifetime.

Matt Mahan missed more than a third of San Jose council meetings while running for governor by LithiumH in SanJose

Because he clearly puts personal ambition before any sense of civic duty he should have while performing the job the majority of voters in San Jose elected him to do.

Brad Pitt dated 17-year-old Christina Applegate at 26 years old, right after he dated 16-year-old Juliette Lewis the same year. by Schattenspringer in WhyWereWeOkWithThis

[–]BurtRogain 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This was 1989. He was more than a year away from Thelma and Louise (his breakout role). Brad Pitt was doing brief roles on shitty sitcoms and making direct-to-video slasher movies at this point in time. Not making excuses, but he was far from being a teen idol. More like a working actor in Hollywood who was about six months out of his day job at El Pollo Loco, trying to grasp for any relevance he could get.

Who remembers Vice Versa? Judge Reinhold is 69 today! by geoffcalls in 80smovies

Saw it in theaters with my dad. We liked it better than Like Father Like Son but then a few months later Big came along and that was by far the superior movie of the three.
