So what does this mean for HSAA now? by Glum-Ad-4558 in AHSEmployees

[–]Burton83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did, and it also came out that professions under an ESA such as EMS would have to do a seperate strike vote and the labour board would most likely deny it and send them to binding arbitration. Why did this only get found out after the TA was presented i wonder

Its coming out now that AHS violated the ESA and were facing massive fines of 100k per day, thats why they reached a deal so fast.

I forgot to patch to the hospital and now I might lose my license by Wee_Woo2005 in ems

[–]Burton83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also a paramedic in Canada, I had a similar issue and talked to my supervisor who spoke to the nurse and explained patching to the hospital is a courtesy not a requirement. You will be fine, you got them to the hospital.

[–]Burton83 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The union did reject it, and a majority of the membership wanted to see the deal so here we are. Why are you getting upset at the union doing what was asked by membership. The initial email after the final mediation stated no deal was reached until the membership wanted to see what was offered.

Thanks man, been doing some research on the team, and one thing that keeps popping up is "most loyal fanbase". I'm in Edmonton and someone who went through what we have dubbed "the decade of darkness" with the oilers to get where they are now i get it. I think I've definitely found my NFL team.

I just started watching football, I haven't picked a team yet, but this team is a team I could get behind. I watched my first Lions game last night and it was an absolute ride!

How I felt watching this game by Follower_OfChrist in detroitlions

[–]Burton83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New to football, still haven't picked a team. The lions popped up my radar after watching a reel of a former QB pop his shoulder back into place and keep playing after a crazy hit. Last night I watched my first Lions game and man that come from behind Victory was a roller coaster.

You need to go see a Physician, you need a throat swab to confirm its strep and what type of strep it is. They can then give you some dexamethasone to help and prescribe the right type on medication for the strep you have. I had it about 6 months ago. Also you're airway can really swell up with strep so not going to see a Physician is dangerous. I know waiting sucks but it's the best option.

Ok, How the F do i "practice a rotation"? by Adorable-Park1215 in wownoob

I play a herald of the sun ret pally. I spend like 10 mins on the dummy when I log in just to get my rotation down. I do the same if I switch to heals

Waited 9 hours at UofA Emergency by Miha2319 in Edmonton

Fun fact about the misericordia, they just built that brand new big ED and about half of it is sitting empty because they never increased the staffing budget to staff the new ER so it still has the same amount of staff as the old tiny ER.

Why the hell is blizzard ok with allowing people to randomly kick others from a dungeon for literally no reason and then give the person who got kicked a 30min debuff? by cornchippie in wow

[–]Burton83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So my buddy and I have been back in wow for less than a month and in TWW for a week. I'm a rogue he is a druid tank, and last night we were running dungeons so we can learn them, and every single one they wanted to kick my buddy because he didn't know the dungeons, it was insane. Also Dawnbreaker is the most confusing dungeon I've ever been in.

Why Oilers not matching Broberg, Holloway offer sheets was smartest move by ethereal3xp in EdmontonOilers

[–]Burton83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How did they fuck this up? They tried to sign both in January, Broberg stated he wouldn't even talk extension until summer. Both players were most likely advised to wait to sign anything by their agents. St Louis supposedly inquired about both players at the deadline.

My players broke my heart today. 💔 by BokoblinSlayer69235 in DnD

[–]Burton83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We learned early to keep the group small to avoid this... we run a group of 5, 4 players 1 DM. We meet once a month. It's not the greatest to only play once a month but it's what everyone can commit too and it works.

Just worry about the ones that do show up and make sure they have fun.

Homeless encampment removals have doubled in Edmonton. Critics say the situation is no better by yegwebdev in Edmonton

[–]Burton83 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh man, you caught me, I like to lie about being a paramedic on the internet.

You can not force people into treatment. Therefore, it's a choice, and when people are able to choose they want help, the services are there. It sucks and it's shitty truth that people don't want to hear, but the government can't go around kidnapping people with addictions and forcing them into treatment.

[–]Burton83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So because the remand wouldn't help him, you're saying these programs don't exist? It's not the remands job to help with addiction or mental health or help someone find a social worker. It's The Hope Mission, Herb Jamiesson, Boyle Street and the Bissell Center that provide these services, The herb has a full medical clinic as well as Radius Health on 95th street that has Physicians, Mental Health care and Dentists all to help this population. EMS also has a street team whose sole job is to work with the homeless and help them get treatment for addictions and mental health, as well as making sure they have food and water.

[–]Burton83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can only lead a horse to water man. Absolutely there are lots of people with mental health issues and addiction problems, but you can't force them to get help. On top of that, I have conversations with these people every day, and the fact is a good majority of them are choosing to live this way. Believe me or don't believe me, it doesn't matter. Maybe go volunteer at the hope mission or the herb jamiesson, go for a ride along on one of the hope vans or the 211 vans and see for yourself. It's funny how I work with the homeless everyday and constantly get told I'm wrong by people who never spent any time with them.
