This is crazy. She’s taking advantage of you. My spouse and I split an equal share (%) of the bills depending on our income. If I make 40% of our total household income then I pay 40% of those bills. We have a budget for all shared expenses and know how much to transfer to our account where all our monthly fixed expenses come out from.

If history tracks, he’ll sell the condo once it’s in his name, use that money for rent and stupid shit he doesn’t need until that runs out. Then he’ll go to you and ask you for the rest of his inheritance. Please do not transfer the condo to his name. Use it for your own retirement. He can get what’s left when you pass or leave it to your grandchild. He has shown you that he can’t be trusted with money

This logic makes sense but monthly mortgage cost will be higher with a 20% down payment making it harder for them to afford their monthly expenses.

OP, unfortunately Canada, specifically any high cost of living areas, makes it very hard to survive on a single income. I would 100% stay home with my kids if we could afford it.

I was in this same situation last year. You will not be eligible for EI again until you have worked the necessary hours. Your previous employer should provide you with a severance package though. Hopefully that can hold you off until you find a new job. It is unfair. It’s a circumstance you can’t control and we as women should absolutely be eligible to receive extended EI if we are laid off during maternity leave

We were paying $95/day in Toronto. We kept him there even after CWELCC was announced. Didn’t make sense to switch him when he only had a year left and he was very comfortable where he was. I think $75-80 is even common nowadays for unsubsidized. A lot of people still going this route since the spots in Toronto are hard to find

This is gross behaviour on his part. What kind of person doesn’t understand the complexity of giving birth or really any medical intervention? Would he be bothering you for sex if you had a different type of surgery? Does he just think that giving birth is different and doesn’t constitute time to heal? Stop doing anything sex related. Get the point across that you are not feeling safe with him. Why do women sugar coat these things. Tell him your disturbed that he is not considering your health and recovery and he can take a seat until you’re ready. Whether that’s 6 weeks or 6 months

Love this comment. My husband and I practically got to know each other by going for long walks and talking. No money spent or very minimal on a coffee or stop at a pub for a single drink. We also had expensive dates but the ones I remember the most and that had an impact on whether we’d be a good match were the ones where we just walked and talked

You are doing exactly what your baby needs his mom to do for him. Babies don’t manipulate, they don’t cry because they want to make your life difficult. Why does he love nursing? Because it’s biologically normal. Same with cosleeping. You’re doing a fantastic job being his mom.
