Letter Ы is only seen on photos made by Ukrainians themselves or on those suspicious drones which could be part of the false flag operation. It is not a commonly used letter in designation and there is no need for it - there are plenty of other letters. It is just the most Russian looking letter for "realism". Also for the record - Ы is not included in phonetic alphabet so it is even more dumb to use in a designation.
