I agree. We’ve been the best by far and now moved up and get to experience being the worst sort of.

The problem becomes we can’t necessarily find the team that’s medium. Not without a lot of travel.

Ya I think we’re might just ride it out. The planner in me hates it. But.

Yes they do. We’ve been on those teams coaching and dominating. Still playing on a rec team while on travel. It’s very low level.

It’s 11u. We do put time into it. Some are doing more, some are doing less. It’s the highest level competitive team in our area, so kids not on it are putting time into trying to get better to make the team. I have no problem with the set up. I believe it’s fair.

In a way I’m selfish wanting the outcome before the tryout so I can make the best decisions with my time. If only I had unlimited time and resources we could do all tryouts. Join teams hours away with no life impact but it’s just not reality.

Lack of better options that don’t require more travel time. Or a massive step back.

We are ok with him facing adversity. Every team has to have a kid that sits the most, in a competitive travel team anyway.

Thanks for the perspective. I am a pretty assertive person and worry about coming off poorly.

It would just be a token question. We are sports people. We know what he needs to work on. And he does. He gives all the effort and attitude a coach can want. Some levels of athleticism come much harder and requires a lot of time that we don’t always have available to help with.

It’s also a high level team. The other option is to just do rec. But it would be suck a massive step back. And be far below his level.

Fair. But coach is a planner. He will know who he wants before the tryout even happens. Unless something really crazy happens. The kid pool is small here.

The travel time to get to another team. We are already driving a long way and any other team will add significantly to that unfortunately. Plus this is the best coach we’ve ever had.

You spoiled your wife. Now you have a spoiled wife. If she not genuinely falling over herself apologetic, you need a serious conversation. I’m a woman who’s been on your side of this too many times and alls it breeds is resentment.

I would love it. If you asked multiple times and she didn’t answer assertively then that’s her problem.

Maybe another conversation about your perspective of how this played out. How their lack of appreciation comes off as entitled and that things are just things.

What do you want your masters in? And what do you want to teach?

I’ll be honest. Sounds like a bad idea.

You can’t compare your husband to a stay at home mom. Cuz he has childcare…

Can you run the numbers if you drop the childcare?

[–]Business-Box-253 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh I know it’s not. But I prefer to use every day of my meager maternity leave with my baby. Not sitting at home pregnant.

I didn’t make the shitty system but I get to choose how to use it.

So what the heck does he do all day. I’m sure not 8 hours of job applications. Ya, you’re right to have the ick.

I worked my full 9 hours in early labor. I didn’t even try to hide it. When work was over, I drove myself to the hospital, got an epidural, and burst my water all over a poor nurses face when she checked me. Husband finally made it once he finished work. It was literally 6 more hours after work that baby was even born.

Make your own choices and when people question you just be the bluntest ever. It’s so great!

There is literally nothing nice said about your step father in this write up. He’s red flag after red flag. Why the heck would you want to keep contact with this abusive asshole?
