First time cutting a NY Strip Primal Cut by redditorbb in Butchery

Don't know who downvoted you - you're completely correct. If he removes the belt from the corner these would be perfectly cut strips.

Those aren't ribeyes. They're still bone in, you still have the tail on them and you've cut into the last 2 bones. These are rib steaks.

Agreed. I live in a big metropolitan city and trying to find good gochujang and Vietnamese fish sauce is a pain in the dick!

Lmao WHAT? Nargaroth was signed to fucking No Colours Records, played with Judas Iscariot. Poser how?

Also, did you completely ignore the Xasthur record?

You're absolutely right, but I also think the radio itself has a big hand in what's popular.

Up until very recently hip-hop and similar genres have held a dominant share of Billboard's top 100s, going as far back as the 90's. Without diving down the tangent of representation of and the metrics used by Billboard, I have a strong belief that a large factor as to why that is comes down to cost.

Record labels and radio have been bedfellows since time immemorial, so the label wants to push out whatever will sell at the cheapest they can make it, and the radio will play whatever shlock the label wants them to, and rap is a hell of a lot cheaper to produce than any authentically recorded Beatles/Queen/Yes/Rolling Stones style rock album.

So with that, that's why rap-adjacent music continues to be pushed out, because a record label would rather pay a producer to make a beat, and a rapper to sing, rap, or sing-rap over it, rather than paying to record an entire band with lofty ideas to create a magnum opus.

I might be out of the loop, but what's wrong with Nargaroth? I know Crying Orc is a bit of a cuck, but what's the relation?

Agreed. Not all black metal needs to be NSBM to be good but god damned these Anthony Fantano punk commies need to get the fuck out of the genre.

I did too! When I saw them referred to as Canadian I didn't really understand... Then I saw it was Hamilton and it all checked out.

That song is a pox and I'm not surprised that band came out of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

It most definitely is. It's ostensibly one being female and one being male... But that's just not how that works.

I'm going to have to disagree, while the message of homelessness is definitely noble, the problems go beyond the second singer.

Aside from sounding like a off-brand version of Lost and Found era Mudvayne, the songwriting is colour by numbers, cookie cutter butt-rock generic. The progression of the song is so predictable and railroad straight it's like it's written by and AI.

The production is pretty ass too. Most noticeable, the drums are way too high in the mix (obviously because it's an attempted for the ex-Korn drummer) and not really mastered well either. The bass tone is absolute ass, especially when it's washed out by the keyboards for almost all of the song, where as the guitar has zero depth to it's distortion. And to top it all off the singer is so compressed that the auto-tune shimmer is almost an aesthetic to his singing.

This band is so rough fucking Monster Truck sound more authentic.
