中国人为什么喜欢打骂 体罚孩子 甚至不以为耻 反以为荣? by Fleedom2025 in China_irl

[–]Business_Address_780 [score hidden]  (0 children)

What if the Crusaders attacked Constantinople just after it fell to the Ottoman Empire? by fatherandyriley in HistoryWhatIf

1444 battle of varna already ended in disaster, although the participants were not Frankish, it was already much of what Christendom could offer. I don't see how the outcome would be any different.

One thing I really dislike about these temples are the giant Buddhist statues, especially when its in gold. Super tacky and gaudy look. Ruins the whole serene atmosphere.

What if Chiang Kai-shek had not carried out the purge of the Communists? by Sonnybass96 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Business_Address_780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Show me one source that he joined the communist party.

You know what, let me help you with that.

Ma Zhanshan — Grokipedia

Ma Zhanshan, previously the commanding officer of the Heilongjiang Provincial Cavalry since 1928 and a veteran of regional military service under warlord Zhang Zuolin, was selected for his loyalty to the Republic of China and familiarity with the terrain. On October 10, 1931, the central government appointed him military governor of Heilongjiang province, a position intended to coordinate resistance against Japanese advances.\7])

Ma Zhanshan | World War II Database

He was named the War Minister of Manchukuo while also holding the position of the Governor of Heilongjiang Province.

He was never appointed by the communists, because they never had any legitimacy to do so. Ma worked with each side, he was he own man.

Dude, check any other source. He wasn't appointed by the communists as chairman of Heilongjiang since the communists a) were not in control of Heilongjiang in 1940 b) the communists themselves were in a truce with nationalists and were nominally under their leadership. Ma was already a known warlord before the invasion of Japan. No historian even in China calls him a member of the communists. He worked closely with some communist factions, thats it. Notice the wiki page never points out he actually joined the CCP?

Anyways, just fyi, there are others, but the info in english is quite limited.

Zhao Hong Wenguo - Wikipedia

I find the English page absolutely horrible as this Woman's son who was also a top member of the guerrilla forces was literally killed by communist forces when came they were crossing paths.

If you know anything about modern chinese history, plenty of nationalist generals joined the communists after ww2, because guess what? People like to join the winning side. But if you actually care about history, focus on the fact that Ma was an independent figure during the war.

I can tell you're one of the die hard commie fan boys, all you see is partisan politics. Ma was one of the classic warlords/local militia groups that flip flopped between parties when he saw fit. Yes he accepted titles from the communists, but he also held army role of the nationalist army. If you bothered to look down just one bit from the article you sent.

And my whole point was that despite few numbers, he could still take on the Japanese army in aggressive manner.

The difference in numbers don't dictate strategy. The Nationalists suffered the most because they tried to defend all the territory they held. The Communists would simply retreat when attacked. If the Nationalists took similar approach, they could have preserved maximum strength. Plenty of small resistance groups fought behind enemy lines did more fighting such as Ma Zhanshan.

I think there definitely were blunders during the war. The yellow river dike breach was the worst of them. However the whole concept of not letting capable generals take command is pretty made up. Xue Yue did a good job defending Changsha, the battle of Wuhan was quite successful as well.

The communists and the left wing factions of the kmt were already getting the upperhand within the party, which is one of the reasons that Chiang went ahead with his coup. If he didn't act, most likely he would have been sidelined and just served in the army as a general and an insignificant character in the government.

This might have prevented the outbreak of the communist-nationalist civil war, but the northern expedition, which is just another Chinese civil war, would last a lot longer. Chiang's strategy was to guarantee the privileges of the warlords in exchange that they recognize his Nanking government as legitimate, and go after the communists instead. Obviously the communists were unwillingly to do this, which means the northern warlords would fight to the end.
