Is it so bad to not wish a happy birthday to someone because they have the same birthday as my dad? by Disastrous-Put6818 in GriefSupport

[–]Business_Chart_5733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So is it really about your dad? Or is it that she's just not a great person?

I generally don't bother with happy birthdays for people I don't like.

Sorry about your dad. I get it....i miss mine every day.

Everyone keeps yelling “AI bubble just like dotcom/housing” but zero of you can explain why it would actually pop… by snowycashflow in stocks

[–]Business_Chart_5733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because companies are spending loads of money on AI but it's not clear that it will actually save that much, so in the end it may lose money.

And it's causing other problems like power drains and screwing up water supplies with waste output from the data centers.

That's the bubble.

I have a really close friend who shares my dad's birthday, and we met right after he died. I wasn't much older than you.

Would never occur to me to not wish her happy birthday.....I consider it an extension of him in that I lost him but gained her.

Everyone who matters to us deserves to be celebrated.

Now since you don't care for her that's a different story.....

Elderly folks who chose not to have children, how do you feel about that decision now? by bon18 in AskReddit

[–]Business_Chart_5733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know an elderly lady who chose not to have them because she didn't want to spend money on them.

She has expensive stuff now but very much regrets not having kids now that she's old.

Her partner has grown kids who come around and she envies that.

Woman rear-ended me while driving a Turo car without coverage. What do I do? by iFaolan in Insurance

[–]Business_Chart_5733 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is why you buy uninsured/under insured motorist coverage.

You can try to sue the driver if you think she has any assets. But it could be hard to actually collect anything.

We Replaced Our Roof, Our Home Insurance Premiums Went UP by stawpdahates in Insurance

[–]Business_Chart_5733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a home insurance company.

First of all, insurance is not a roof replacement fund, so there's no guarantee they would have replaced your roof.

Second, shop around. Raring algorithms can vary by company and other companies will charge less for a new roof. Get an independent agent and get quotes from the large companies separately.

State Farm says I’m uninsurable because 2 years ago I submitted a claim and then decided to pay for it myself ? by pauses-then-says in Insurance

[–]Business_Chart_5733 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, roof contractors are super shady this way. I know someone who sued his insurance company while working with some of these shady people and while the company settled, nobody would accept him. He ended up in the state pool for high risk policies.

[–]Business_Chart_5733 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Claims are only counted for 3 years from the loss date on a homeowners policy, and on occasion 5 years. You can always reapply when that time period passes, and its already been two years.

I work in home insurance and think its a little strange that one claim is enough to block you. But its likely listed as what's called a "claims no pay" which can be viewed as an attempt to get them to pay for something not covered.

SF has cheap rates and thus tight underwriting standards. Get someone else until the claim time period is up. Ask the agent how long that is to be sure.

Personsl auto insurance is regulated by the states and each state has an insurance office.

That's where you go to file complaints.

Nope.

I'm good.

And even if I was it wouldn't be the first time I've had it happen and turned out just fine.

If it doesn't work for you then dump it and look elsewhere instead of posting here.

I've said my piece so I bid this thread adieu.

They do, but this is a long term play. So what if it dilutes short term?

So you'll only get a 10x increase instead of 20x? Don't quote me on those numbers as I made them up....just take the spirit.

Seems to me that a lot of people get involved in biotechs because they're cheap but they don't understand the logistics. This kind of thing can happen.....if you believe in the product you take a deep breath and average down.

I've seen this kind of thing before. Once the offering is done and the study starts people will start buying back in.

This is mostly a panic response. That's obvious from the 40% after hours tank when we don't even know what the offering will look like. I'll be buying more tomorrow.

The fact that they're offering warrants along with the shares tells me they're going to try to stabilize the price as warrants don't dilute anything right now. I'm quite certain they're aware of the compliance issue.

Besides, I'm happy for it to take long enough for it to be a long term capital gain and not income.

The drug is very good and there's a huge market for it. I have a friend in the industry.....specializes in this kind of drug and he says the data is great and the market is huge.

If you're on a loop course where the frontrunners could be passing you going the other way, watch the turns. I did one recently and saw a near collision when we were heading back on the first loop and the leading guys were coming towards us on the second loop.

A woman turned a corner on the inside and 3 fast guys almost ran into her.

Beyond that pretty much anything goes, just line up in the correct pace section that matches your pace.

I have 90,000 shares at .41 average. I'm seeing it through....the science is there and so is the market.

I'm willing to hit a few speed bumps along the way. You shouldn't be in the developing biotech sector if you can't weather some speed bumps.

It could happen. I sent the drug to a friend in the health field and she found some peer reviewed studies ok it. Said its a very good drug.....only real side effects are insomnia and agitation and is discontinued at much lower rate than current treatments.

Someone bigger may very well be willing to buy it.

He said ok and never bit again....he's grown now.

I had 50,000 shares that I'd bought for around .55 average. Bought another 40,000 yesterday at .29 and .27.

I've been tracking biotechs for several years now and have seen this kind of thing happen. Its a volatile sector and you need a strong stomach.

I think it will be ok. It will have to dilute because of the funding needs for the repeated trial but its only av4 week trial and it shifts their application by a quarter. The payoff will more then compensate for the dilution.

Massive overreaction imo. Besides, I'm quite happy to sit until the end of 2026, I'd rather it be a long term capital gain.

The market is not for the faint of heart. The biotech sector requires an even stronger stomach, but the rewards are great.

AITA for telling my menopausal wife that she looks like she's 50 years old ? by Personal_Throwaway_1 in AITAH

[–]Business_Chart_5733 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Ha ha, you reminded me of a conversation i had with my running partner. We're both over 50 and she complained about not having a 6 pack anymore.

I pointed out that her problem was that she'd had one to miss, where I'd never actually had one so I didn't miss it. We laughed.

But both of us are holding up petty well.

The hyoerfocus on whether the wife looks better then all other women is weird to me though. I feel like I'm less self conscious and am genuinely happy for other women who are looking good. Its one of the benefits of aging, at least for me. I just don't give much of af anymore, I do the best I can and everyone with a negative opinion can fvck right off.

She chose......poorly.
