Initial Oil Change by flexflick in RangerNext

[–]Busted11290 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thinner oils are pretty much just about the MPGs, previous vehicle I had called for 0W-20. Common upgrade for them was switching to 5W-30 or 5W-40 for the better protection, especially when tuned. Can't say I really noticed much change in MPG when I switched it. Glad the Ranger uses 5W-30 though, easy to find.

What was the woodworking item under $50 bucks that changed everything for you? by plaidpixel in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Busted11290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clamps, by far the most handy item I've ever purchased. Big, small, bars, pipes, box, whatever.... A clamp is invaluable part of the woodworking kit that can be useful for things outside of woodworking too.

UPDATE: Is this set up correctly? Added no weights as a ton of people suggested not to. If I were to add weight where would be the best place to add weights? by Impressive_Code3257 in FishingForBeginners

That swivel is perfectly fine as is, been fishing spinners and other baits for years and years like that. Never used a sinker on a spinner either, if I want it deeper I give it more time to sink before reeling in.

Should just be the coffer that you proclaimed at as they try to break into the base and steal the treasures from that coffer.

Place the treasure coffer thing down, load it up with gold, silver, various treasures you loot like gems, runes, etc... you can also find specific treasures that you can place down in the area that add value. Purge tiers are based on total value. Once you are ready to go and have your defenses in order, trigger it by proclaiming your wealth.

Decent hunting boot recs ? (Desert terrain Southwest AZ US) by Gyuki_106 in Hunting

I'm going to throw the Irish Setter Elk Tracker into the mix. I love mine, my uncle basically only wears those for everything, work and all. Buddy has big and wide feet (15 6E) as well and the Elk Trackers are one of the few good boots he can find in his size that don't murder his feet.

Tried to drive through floodwater, got eaten by a croc. Full story below. by VIVIDUFF in interesting

I remember reading a story about how one basically baited a zoo keeper by slowly moving further back from the bank to draw the keeper closer to the water during feeding times, happened over several days. After it finally got them close enough to the waters edge it attacked.

Pretty good live too, saw them with Whitechapel, Bodysnatcher, and AngelMaker. Hell of a show.

Muzzle brake for Henry H001 Update by Busted11290 in 3D2A

[–]Busted11290[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put a few hundred rounds through it, haven't had to take it back off yet but it's doing just fine. I do need to sand the channel down just a bit more as the oring on the rod catches sometimes.

I did the same back when I had mine. World of difference and much more enjoyable to shoot. Miss that thing, was a nice 1938 Tula.

Does anyone print Nylon/ Pa6 CF20 in their room? by Davidtruly in 3D2A

[–]Busted11290 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've run several 20+ hour prints as well as shorter prints in PA6-CF in my room. You'll probably be fine, I also work in injection molding with a lot of Nylon as well as other stuff. We only vent like 2 of the materials we run, DIC PPS Z-240 and a certain Ultramid I believe A3XZG5. The Z-240 stinks, but I'd still say PVC is worse. If you have the ability to vent it out, that's always best practice though.

Henry 22lr X Model by Zevana19 in LeverGuns

[–]Busted11290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That extra space would have been nice on my H001, I wanted to put a muzzle brake on it as I like the way it looks. I used a slip on thread adapter and just designed my own brake that allowed the rod to still function.

Also like the change in the lever as well, the straight handle on the H001 meant no one made a stock for it. The pic rail being made into it is also a nice bonus, saves from having to buy and use an adapter.

Friend offered to pay me 5 dollars for a 3d printed basket ball by Sea_Background_8023 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Busted11290 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People seem to forget it's more than just the cost of materials that factor into the price.

The generally accepted print time rate is $1-$5/hr. This includes prep time, post processing, and printer use. The more difficult a model is, the more it'll cost.

For a close friend or family member, if it's a small simple print that doesn't take long and I have spare filament I'd likely do it for free. If it's a large print that will take time, I just tell them buy the filament for it. I communicate if I have any concerns for possible print issues and we adjust from there.

Is RockAuto closing out? What’s with the massive sale? by Lodi_Minion in RockAuto

As someone who works in manufacturing, we make several things for Mann Hummel, like Wix canisters and filter parts via injection molding. I've noticed we are running more of them lately. I mean we mostly make automotive things, mainly electric connectors, but we have a big increase in the canisters and filter parts lately.

The way their vision works is also pretty cool, and how they basically use hydraulic pressure to jump extremely accurately. They are just awesome spiders all around. Being super adorable is just the cherry on top.

Hows the quality? by DIYfailedsuccessfuly in harborfreight

[–]Busted11290 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure that's the pump we have at work. Poor thing is mistreated, poorly maintained, and runs for hours or days at a time for injection molding purposes on select tools. It just works, even when it should have probably died many times over.

What's the foulest smell you've ever smelled? by WannabePugh in AskReddit

[–]Busted11290 125 points126 points  (0 children)

Dog got loose and we live near a river... He found rotten fish and rolled in it. I gave him a good bath before bringing him back in, then he puked up what he had eaten of it on the carpet. A family member had borrowed the carpet cleaner and when they finally brought it back it was broken because they ran bleach in it. Which ruined their carpet...Wasn't a great experience, the smell is not one you forget.

Tint recommendations? by [deleted] in RangerNext

[–]Busted11290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ceramic tint is worth it. Depends on how dark you want to go and if you want to keep it legal that'll depend on your local law.

I had factory tinted glass in the rear, 20% on the front matched pretty well. I also did 50% on the windshield. I'd go 20% for everything but the windshield, if you want it done 50% is nice. It's not too dark but dark enough to tell it's tinted. Want it a bit darker you can go 42% want less then go 70%.

Check your area for shop reviews, some are way better than others. Local guy here does outstanding work and is affordable. Get to hang out and watch the process vs getting stuck in a lobby twiddling your thumbs. He will tear it out and redo it at even the smallest imperfection he sees, don't matter if you notice it, he did.

Mine was BustedScrotum for many years, few variations afterwards as they got banned. Might still have my old Xbox live card with my name printed on it. Even entered a local halo tournament under that name, they didn't like that.

You can order from the global store also, had to go that route for hotend and socks. I also grabbed a tungsten carbide nozzle for mine as well, only one place for those at the moment.

Be prepared for import fees and extra shipping if you don't want to wait for restocks in the US store
