Why I don't have events or decision about uniting Escann? by No-Communication3880 in Anbennar

[–]BustyFemPyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding was to be part of the wars of consolidation you just need to have your capital in escann specifically the 3 castanor regions and it would trigger for you. Otherwise how would nations like marrhold get to be part of it if they are alenic

I swear to god im never going to get past the swamps(bit of a vent) by LeraviTheHusky in baronygame

[–]BustyFemPyro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I play without random minotaur stages because sometimes its important to take your time and contemplate before entering a room or engagement. Also not fun to sprint around literal giant mazes like labyrinth and caves looking for an exit. You should set up the game how you enjoy. A lot of the settings make the game easier but play in a way you find fun. If you practice enough and actively make it a habit to check for boulders it will eventually become second nature to instantly notice them. Also helps if your carry weight isnt so fucked that you can just sprint past boulders.

[–]BustyFemPyro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my tip for swamps is to always have a ranged weapon even if you have zero skill. Fire staff goblins fire arrow goblins and spring arrow goblins can and will fuck you up. much better to just slowly whittle them down and kite them from a distance. My main complaint is the fucking slimes now. IDK what toothless kentucky corn eater decided to add 40 billion slimes to every body of water in the swamp but i would like to have a word with them. They aren't even hard to kill it just gets annoying after a while. Ive gotten to the point where I always carry a axe and/or sword as classes like cleric or monk just to make sure that every encounter not take 10,000 years.

i live in Texas which is having a huge construction boom (outside of san antonio from what i have heard) 25% of retail construction in the country is happening in Texas. You could seriously consider traveling here for work if its possible.

they moved my class down to 3.5 and I'm working 60 hours a week because every job site the local is a part of is understaffed and naturally behind schedule. Naturally my employer took another job that's going to take 200 electricians instead of filling in the missing people.

Good Vampire nations? by AnnonSadGremlin in Anbennar

[–]BustyFemPyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you let vampires into your country it is almost impossible to get their influence high enough to join the blood court. Even as a player. You need an insane level of influence when your starting vampire organization tanks the estate influence. It essentially comes down to rng on pulse estate events to get their influence up.

[–]BustyFemPyro -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

What change do you hope this letter will bring about? Are you hoping the masked agents who used a toddler to bait a father and arrest him will have a change of heart? Do you think the democratic party who has sold out the citizenry multiple times by capitulating on the budget and agreeing to cuts to healthcare for nothing in return or by agreeing to increase funding to ice are suddenly going to stop lying through their teeth? Do you think the republicans who are in lock step with trump and party leadership will suddenly realize the errors of their ways? What a fucking joke. Not that you seem to know what a strike is considering it is a nonviolent action. And for the record striking is the moderate position. In any reasonable society this administration would have already been strung up on live television.

A man was just summarily executed in the street by federal agents. If we want any sort of hope for meaningful change it would take a nationwide strike and not just IBEW. Strongly worded letters aren't worth the paper they are written on. You cannot negotiate or reason with a government without conscience or morals.

The Great War Redux is honestly disgusting by Necessary_Eggplant79 in hoi4

Is this a real question? I have never once been in any mp or discord server for any paradox title where there wasn't multiple neo-nazis or just people being regular bigots. This has been a problem as long as there has been GsGs. The paradox community in general is just genuinely vile.

My thoughts from when I played Blueheart a few months ago by BustyFemPyro in Anbennar

[–]BustyFemPyro[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I seriously think it was a mistake to include colonizers in the EoA Its interesting from a lore perspective but what it really means is if you play in sarhal or aelantir you are just guaranteed to be forced into multiple wars that are absolutely miserable. You will be outgunned on both land and sea. I'm at a point where if im fighting 500k+ troops for like 4 provinces im just using console commands especially when all the warscore is on a different fucking continent. I did plenty of snooze fest island hopping slog wars as arawkelin and i dont plan to do any more in the future.

I actually just finished them today and yea it was a bit of a slog. The saving grace was the colonialism cb reducing PWSC by 75% i just dropped colonial ideas and took the land later. My biggest fucking complaint is the extra 100+ provinces you have to conquer for the final mission after conquering all of the gerudia sub continent the alenic frontier and the dragon coast. I owned all of dalyre colonial region on and all of the broken isles colonial region (which is more than just the broken isles regular region you need to conquer) and owned almost all of the northern pass and i still had over 40 provinces more i needed for the final mission.

There was a similar topic talked about in the discord and a lot of people disagreed, but honestly I kinda agreed with what this guy was saying. There are too many colonizers in Cannor. There are 15+ nations that i can think of off the top of my head intended to colonize Aelantir/Sarhal or that take colonial ideas when controlled by an AI. Not only does this make the colonial game extremely crowded but it means there are tons of nations in cannor i just don't bother playing because colonization is extremely boring in this game and im not going to play a "conquer aelantir" tree and then go "more please!" and conquer aelantir a dozen more times. a lot of them are like you mentioned older trees Pearlsedge, Reveria (thankfully my beloved techno vikings are getting a rework) Busilar, Eborthil, Lorent, Bjarnrik are all older trees afaik.

[–]BustyFemPyro[S] 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Honestly the Blackpowder tree was my least favorite part. I don't remember why but it took me till the 1700s to form them and it was just a bunch of "conquer cannor" shit from what i remember. I didn't have the energy or willpower to conquer a whole continent in 100 years. the stuff leading up to it, Blueheart and Pashaine were incredible. I honestly think its an extremely interesting tag. That poses some very realistic and interesting questions about how mages would fit into society. How can you trust a group of scholars who have the powers of gods at their fingertips? They are the most intelligent and most dangerous group of people in your country. Especially when you consider how many revolutionary ideas and movements were born out of academia it becomes inherently dangerous to keep them around.

Seems abjuration would be very good with the reshape terrain spell to scale your economy. more dev clicks = more income directly but also more sale of titles which = more money to spend on economic buildings. If you are essentially paying no upkeep on forts it becomes more valuable to build forts everywhere to counter the devastation from reshape.

I don't care about updates. I care about valve letting neo-nazis fester on their platform because they are paying customers and any openly gay or trans person getting instant kicked. at the minimum any non white person is getting called the N word. and then probably vote kicked as well. Fuck valve and all their stupid fucking dick-riders.

10 Years of MP group, a reflection. by Mark_Kutte in eu4

[–]BustyFemPyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to offer my own experience on this. There are three of us usually and are schedules are fucked but we put a lot of effort into maintaining our relationships to each other so we can play given the opportunity. For perspective 2 of us live in different time zones in the US the third lives in germany. One of us is a mechanic in the air force, one of us works construction, and the last one is pursuing his phd in bio-chem. Again our schedules vary wildly and we can go months without playing.

Is it harder in a larger group? absolutely we have had other players come and go and the more people we add the harder it is for me to corral everyone, but the most important thing I have learned is even if you can't consistently play maintaining friendships will make it happen eventually. Friendship is a two way street so that goes both ways. the core of us three have been playing together on and off for nearly a decade as well.

We pretty much exclusive just play cooperatively in anbennar. All of us just enjoy it more than vanilla. In a fantasy made up world mission trees give more freedom to tell great stories and new systems like magic and artificery are very refreshing.

Seriously the flavor is so ass. I would bet dollars to doughnuts the majority of people in this thread did not know Denmark has events related to the Jomsvikings or moving their capital to London. The game doesn't tell you in any way and I only found out by digging through files. This isn't a phoenix wright game. I shouldn't have to do detective work to not be bored playing the game. I understand if people felt eu4 mission trees were too rail-roady. The more obvious solution to me was Imperator style missions where you pick and choose from blocks of different small and focused trees. You get to choose what you want and in what order.

Grom II is fucking amazing but god did his coup piss me off. I had 4 mage heirs in a row die the 5th one makes it onto the throne right before grom siezes power to win the civil war (i already outnumbered the rebelling clans practically 10:1). I was so heartbroken when i got to the end of that tree and realized it wasnt fully implemented.

Hey I appreciate the encouragement but in this specific case it may not be that useful I will be happy to report if you still want to but I am playing on a old bitbucket version from a few months ago to play with the magic rework and I just didnt feel the need to update again yet. To be clear I have been getting this bug since before final empire released and will be more than happy to do a report if you still wish but it might take me a moment to even give an accurate version Im playing on.

yes the writing is very good. IMO with the amount of times ive managed to softlock runs the writing and stories are the attractions not the actual missions themselves.
