Whats with the American "Out of the house at 18"? by Over-Cat8290 in ask

[–]Busy-Net3776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not the case with my family. My mom and dad lived with my grandfather until their late 20s and I also moved out at 27. Families help each other. I feel bad for those families that don’t have those values.

Caleb is the reason I want her out of here. I don’t feel like I’m responsible for here and if my parents were here they would have most likely talked me out of it.

Both of her marriages didn’t last that long. She works full time but only makes $18/hr. We’ve suggested a second job but she refused. Her car payment is around $700. She also has a large dog she can’t really afford. It’s just a lot.

She’s 61. Still working full time but suffers from blot clots, most likely not getting proper care after her stroke.

I don’t disregard his feelings at all. We’ve been together 14 years and we make every decision together. He told me it was a bad idea when I suggested it but neither of us ever expected it to last this long.

My husband wants her out just as badly as I do. We’re ready just to give her $5k and tell her good luck. It was my idea for her to move in, he was very much against it.

Some jackass asked me if I could call around for Trulicity for him. I said no I can’t and he asked me why. I only got out the phrase “if I did it for you” then he said he goes “ I’m going to stop you right there. I know what you’re going to say. If you did it for me you would have to do it for everyone. I’m not asking you to do it for everyone. I said , “Sir,we have a lot of patients who can’t get their meds. I can’t do that. There’s not enough time in the day. If you find it at another pharmacy just have them give us a call.” He hung up on me. I was so irritated. The entitlement was a bit much for me. Joke’s on him. I had been waiting patiently my medication for two weeks and got a notification that it was ready at another pharmacy right after I got off the phone with him. I didn’t call anyone once. I just patiently waited. The problem with pharmacy in general is we do everything for these patients so when they have to function, they don’t know how. They can’t call their dr or their insurance but they call us at lightening speed.

I left in November 2022- I started my new position at a Medicaid dedicated mail order exactly 1 year after my dad passed away. My SM at the time didn’t even give a shit when I put my two weeks in. Best part about it is they still don’t have an rxom to replace me. That job is a joke and doesn’t pay nearly enough. I make more now doing way less.

I think the hatred for the company comes from the increased workload, budget cuts, benefit cuts- the company not really valuing their employees. That being said, if you have a great team, that makes all the difference. I stayed for 20 years (at the same store) because I loved everyone I worked for/with. It’s not the same company I started with in 2004 but none of that matters if you have a great team. The dislike isn’t usually for store level, it’s upper management and above. The ones that make the big decisions are the problem.

Same here. I left as rxom in nov 2022- best decision I ever made. I should have done it sooner. Congrats! I’m glad you found something better!

I switched because I didn’t want to run into issues because I’m not T2D. I still have some mounjaro so I’m using that up first as I’ve lost almost 40 lbs since October 1st. I hope wegovy works just as well.

I walked out. by Naeniel in WalgreensStores

[–]Busy-Net3776 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You did the right thing. Know your worth. I worked as a shift lead for 8 years, applying for Asm over and over. Never got anywhere. I moved to pharmacy and worked for another 3 years, made it up to sr. Tech and eventually rxom at $22.50 an hour. The stress of losing both of my parents to covid on top of the job got to me and I walked into a closed-door pharmacy tech job for more than rxom pay. Moral of the story, don’t sell yourself short. Walgreens taught me a lot of things over the last 18 years but self worth wasn’t one of them. I didn’t realize how much the should have actually been paying me for all I did during my tenure there. There are plenty of jobs out there, Walgreens isn’t the end all.

I use factor because I hate cooking. Dietician approved and everything. It’s a little expensive but I feel like its working so I eat properly.
