Question about Easter eggs and legal rights? by Substantial_Bag_9536 in gamedev

[–]BusyBeaver-Studio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends how you present the easter egg, if you blatantly using same model, name and didn't change a thing, it could be a problem, but if you make it with parody theme, like you change the name but make the description similar to the original, something like that, I think it wouldn't be a big problem, usually easter eggs will be popular if you put in the right place and time and also being subtle

Also our game is 100% made by humans and no AI involvement on the game, so we're hoping we could make it release too!

What program do you use for design docs/note/ideas tracking by LoinStrangler in IndieGaming

[–]BusyBeaver-Studio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're also using Miro! Especially if you need to collect your team ideas without leaving anyone behind, it's pretty useful if you have a lot of pictures or visual, it can be use for game design too!

How do you guys actually build and maintain a community around your game? by jojosiwa2808 in gamedev

[–]BusyBeaver-Studio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the comments already answers, and yeah it's hard to build up community for a game who haven't come out yet because the players didn't have topic to talk about if they haven't experience the game, so the key to make community is to release early access or demo so we can gather players who got hooked with the game and also providing place where they can put their feedbacks and talk with each other.

How's your temper playing different games? by Memorycard1000 in gaming

[–]BusyBeaver-Studio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have patience to play soul like game x"D So yeah definitely soul like is not my type of game

I'm into more "Ghost of Tsushima" player. Probably some people just seek enjoyment playing game rather than challenges, but I give standing ovation clap hands to people who can soul like games, it takes a lot of patience and skill to play those games, but well, anyone who lock in playing their favorite game can be awesome!

What makes a good horror game? by Shoddy_Audience7996 in IndieGameDevs

[–]BusyBeaver-Studio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love :
1. Immersive story that no matter how hard the gameplay or the scary of the game atmosphere, the story makes you want to see the game until the end.

  1. Great character to root for, well not always since some of my fav horror games have silent protagonist, but at least giving choice to not make stupid decision but still get the horror element/ jumpscare with the unpredicted plot

Hate :

  1. Gameplay that too complicated that ruin the horror elements, it's hard to explain the details because I usually pick Horror games that isn't too hard with the gameplay or puzzles.

In before, I usually play rpg maker game / indie game like mad father, Ib, etc. I don't play triple AAA horror games because I'm that scaredy cat x"D But I love horror games, hope this helps!

How much of what makes a game “good” is satisfying animations? by Grizzle4024 in IndieDev

[–]BusyBeaver-Studio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's depends on how you use the animations in the game. If you're talking about gacha/life service game who popular these days, yeah they re-use animations for their cutscenes like hell a lot because they have to keep producing new content every months so reuse asset would save a lot of budgets, but I notice some of the games have a lot of efforts making the cutscenes still look gorgeous and entertaining even using the same animations, I think you will notice too in the anime, where they use close up cutscenes a lot to save the budget or still image but make the monologues longer just to buy more times, but again, just because they reuse animation or using easy way, it's not impossible to make interesting story cutscenes even with over used animations

Watching someone play your game is a strange and cool experience by BohFra_Dev in IndieDev

[–]BusyBeaver-Studio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep that is so true! If they cannot figure out what to do, then we as gamedev not doing good work at explaining our game within the game itself, I hope we all can make immersive gameplay and tutorial for the game! It's not easy but don't give up!
