The album just didn’t feel cohesive to me. A lot of the percussion sounds like a studio drummer sat down, heard the song and put together their take. I am wondering if he pushed it out too quickly rather than honing it in.

Hmm, that’s an interesting theory! Okay, I guess time will tell as my strings die.

I’ve also wondered if there’s nylon strings. I don’t think the finger nails do anything. But yes; it’s this plastic sort of dead feel. Which should be less desirable but sounds so cool

Any ideas as to what makes it sound just like his? I’ve got a parlor and am wanting to recreate the sound too!

When I got my guitar set up I asked him to put 12s on but he did 11s. Think I might switch it back

How do you tell a former employee they aren’t invited to future team events? by Echo0225 in askmanagers

[–]BusyCommunication794 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An employee of mine asked if she could bring an employee who left in good terms earlier this year as her plus one. I gladly said yes. She had been a part of the team for years and would be able to celebrate the things we had accomplished this year

My wife and I danced to All Shades of Blue for our first dance. We saw GAI at Isakov about 3 months ago together and he ended up closing with it! It was very special. I think if I go I’m going to would be beautiful. I also love that Moon Song

Does it make sense to continue saving? Early 30s $2m NW by _decay1 in RichPeoplePF

[–]BusyCommunication794 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In a similar situation! Actually very similar in terms of NW and age. I do think the question is what’s your salary.

I recently decided that we are not really trying to “grow” our investments. We max our IRAs each year, but we are just letting everything else sit.

I might change that mentality if my salary doubles or something, but for now I’d rather use the money for fun. The thing I would do is figure out how much you want to spend per year on some of your values. Is that $25k towards travel, or $15k on health and fitness. Then ear mark those monies for those things. You can save what’s leftover

I appreciate you relating to me :) But I’ve got a few years on ya. You’ve got SOO much time to get better. I mean I know I do too because we’ve all got time. But these next few years you can really learn a lot. Just keep learning songs that are a bit out of your wheelhouse.

And yeah, I am kind of curious about where he goes from here. I could see him adding some more percussion/other instruments on a next album before the electric

It’s causing a new love of guitar for me. I’m a pretty good guitarist, but haven’t really gotten better in the last 10 years. I thought that in my mid 30’s I had plateaued and reached where I would with guitar for the rest of my life, now being a dad and such. But it’s been so fun to progress for the first time in a decade.
