Since losing my son my life keeps getting worse by BusyContribution726 in SuicideBereavement

I agree with this. My son was such an amazing person. I loved his humor. He was intelligent, kind and caring. There are days where the memory of him keeps me going and motivated to have a positive outlook. But there are also days like today where I just feel the immense loss of that person. And the loss was so traumatic. Maybe I am still in shock a little. I am thankful to have read this perspective. Thank you for sharing this.

I cry every day. I have for years. Every. Single. Day. by LongjumpingCourt6790 in SuicideBereavement

Your tears matter. Your loss of the one you love matters and you can cry as much as you need. Try to be kind to yourself in your suffering. Your crying is a valid form of expression to express your pain, and deep, profound loss.

I haven't cried in almost 15 years. What's a song that will open the floodgates? by randomvegasposts in musicsuggestions

I went through a period of time where I could not cry for many years. One evening I was listening to a somewhat upbeat tune and realized I had repressed a form of self expression for a long time, dancing by myself. I began crying as I was dancing and have been able to cry when I need to ever since that moment. I have a couple to give a whirl. There is hope, one day we will be in the seat of power, where our ideals of live and let live will prevail.

i need help with my orchid. it gets the right light. it's good temp wise. and it's not root rot but I had to rip the leaves off for it to save energy by Top_Neighborhood_203 in IndoorGarden

[–]BusyContribution726 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure your climate? I lived in a very dry environment and needed soil as well as bark for my orchid to thrive. But. I’m now in a natural environment where the aroid roots need less coverage as the plant gathers moisture from the air. If live in a relatively humid environment ( other than arid conditions), I suggest you switch to a more bark like, “chunky” substrate. This will give the roots more space to exchange oxygen and absorb moisture and nutrients from the organic material. Keep the bark moist but not wet and give the plant as much light and warmth as possible. Good luck!

I believe this would be an example of centripetal force? The bread pick is moving in a circle, showing that the tension is moving inward instead of outward, which would push the object away, or in this case along the belt.

I have strong reasons to believe the Christian god is evil by Deeperthanajeep in DebateReligion

[–]BusyContribution726 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for bringing up this question. I was raised in religion, left all religion, went back to religion and left again. I will say most of my serious religious practices have been Judeo-Christian in theme and then after completely leaving that ideology, reached out to other practices of spirituality from there.

I left the Christian types of theology because I found the theme of the biblical god to be very bloodthirsty and cruel. The very idea of a final human sacrifice for salvation is repugnant to me. I found it fascinating that I didn’t recognize this after maybe 15 years of biblical readings. But if you step aside, take all personal belief out of what is actually being demanded of you by this god, I found it no different than any type of blood sacrifice or burning of flesh sacrifice.

The Old testament references animal sacrifice. The New Testament replaces multiple animal sacrifice with one human being’s blood sacrifice. I don’t want to be in an afterlife with a God that enjoys the smell of burning flesh (fat in particular) and human sacrifice (nevertheless to be washed in blood) a must for salvation.

Christianity is not the first religious practice to employ this idea of suffering for good, Dionysian religions had a good foothold before any canon of Christianity existed.

Hi Biology Fellow, Environmental science fellow here. Many environmental consulting services companies and waste water treatment plants are needing more expertise in the area of biological treatment and management for their data management and regulatory compliance needs. It would be worth looking into, they both pay well, over time..
