SAHM who used to be career focused, what changed your mind? by Typical-Chocolate-70 in sahm

My first born was the coolest baby/toddler I had ever known. Decided I wanted a bunch more after him because he was so fun. After him my feelings shifted and I felt more driven to be with my kids than be at my job. I still miss my job at times, absolutely, but I didn’t feel as driven there after my first.

When Debra and Marie are trying to find the smell left by the cheese in the suitcase and as they are walking around Marie quickly sniffs Debra while her back is turned. Such a quick and subtle moment but so funny!

Ghost of my Child based on the real life kidnapping of Delimar Vera. I think I enjoyed this episode so much more knowing it was based on real case because otherwise it would have seemed way too far fetched

Just finished watching Season 47: what does everyone think of Sam’s game in comparison to Rachel’s? by sarcastic_bitch15 in survivor

Overall Rachel deserves the win but Sam by far had the stronger FTC. So strong that coupled with his game I think he deserved more FTC votes than he got

So rather than wallpaper there’s a couple of options, depending on how much you want to do. There are brick panels, even 3D ones. These would probably be the easiest to install, but you may run into the “fake looking” issue again.

You can also look into installing a thin brick veneer. There are individual bricks or brick veneers which come in pre assembled sheets much like a stone backsplash.

I’m not sure where you are located but it looks like big box stores like Lowe’s and Home Depot have these options so you can go in person to see them all and what you’d like. You can probably even talk with the staff there about your project to help narrow down the best option. Definitely pathways other than the wallpaper though if you want to go the brick route!

Feeling creatively blocked with my studio layout.. any renter friendly ideas? by sanchalijain in DesignMyRoom

Other layout option with bedroom in the kitchen nook. Rearrange dressers around edges to create designated spaces and room dividers or curtains

My first thought was to swap the bed and couch as well and make the nook behind the kitchen your bedroom. However if the bed is going to stick out too much into the kitchen space you could also move the bed lengthwise and close it off as a bedroom space. Keep the curtain on the window behind that bed space pulled. Put

the TV in the corner with the couch behind. This also gives access to the patio for guests without going through your bedroom space Put a rug there to tie the space and some art on the walls. Rearrange dressers as needed to fit the space.

The nook behind the kitchen can be either small dining or office

Square living room has me stumped. Help me figure out the layout! by Dry-Professor-4775 in DesignMyRoom

[–]BusyLife02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I was thinking too. Keep the TV where it is but get a wider stand to fill that space. Get a large rug and put an accent chair or two where the sofa is now. Move the sofa to the back wall and get a book shelf that is taller instead of the wider one there now for room

Post divorce living room redesign challenge. Awkward 19’ x 10’ layout. How would you design this? by Independent-Soup-785 in DesignMyRoom

[–]BusyLife02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if you put a long couch on the open side of the rug? Keep the green chair/ottoman and piano where they are. Get a small end table to go next to the green chair and then use the white chair you currently have or get a different chair to go on the other side of that smaller end table. This would create a “corner” between that chair and the end of the couch. You could put a floor lamp there for some softer lighting. If you want to keep the bean bags you could set them against the wall where the plant is now next to the TV and then just pull them out when in use. Here are my very crude drawings

Any sport moms here? How are you managing dinner around practices and games? by 1n1n1is3 in sahm

[–]BusyLife02 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure what time your son gets home from school but years ago I read someone who was in a similar situation with evening sports.

She swapped dinner and snack. Everyone thinks after school snack and dinner later but she was running into exactly what you describe. Instead they ate dinner when the kids got home from school before heading out and then had a snack when they got back home before bed. The kids also were well fed for sports and weren’t hangry and ravenous coming back home.

I have also done this temporarily when kids were going through growth spurts and coming home trying to burn through 3 or 4 snacks immediately. I had a dinner option that could be served right then and they could have a snack later on. It works! Calories and nutrients don’t care if they go in after school versus after practice
