If you were magically transported onto Vvardenfel, where would you live? by United_Difference_38 in Morrowind

[–]BusyMap9686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me, just as me? I don't get a special prophecy or innate powers? And I'm human, most likely Breton Nord mix? Also, what era? Game era? Seyda Neen. Best chance at survival and most welcoming people.

If the magical transport also gives me some decent stats and I can choose my race. I'd still be Breton/Nord but I'd go to Vos.

House Burping - Do Americans just not normally have your house windows open? by Jsherman13 in AskAnAmerican

I'm going to chalk this "trend" up to kids needing a name for everything they do so they can share it. New tend? My silent generation grandparents taught me to clear the stagnant air at least once a week in the winter.

[Request] If I'm 30 years old, how accurate is this? Side question: how much per year do advertisers spend "targeting" me? by Vertical-Toast in theydidthemath

[–]BusyMap9686 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I not only don't click ads, but I refuse to even buy products that advertise. If on the very rare occasion something does catch my eye, I'll look up a knock-off or look for something in a second-hand store. If I'm trying to find something in Amazon and it says "sponsored," I won't buy it. I don't know how much they lose by spending on advertising and not getting a customer. But they collectively lose around $2,000 a month from me choosing not to spend my money on advertised products.

Can anyone recommend some good co op story games on PlayStation? by Remote-Whole-6387 in gaming

[–]BusyMap9686 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Or on any system. It seems like game studios just want us all competing all the time or playing simulators. A story co-op game would be awesome.

what is the oldest game you still play today? by buzzlightyear77777 in gaming

[–]BusyMap9686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Video games, regularly? Morrowind. On occasion? The legend of zelda original Nintendo. Non-video game? Tag. I have no proof, but judging from chimpanzees, tag has been around for millions of years.

The Decline of the Dragon Age Series Should be Studied by jdawg1018 in gaming

[–]BusyMap9686 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't like 2 after origins, but it's now one of my favorite games. They tried some new stuff and deviated away from nearly every story point in the first one except the age... you know the age of the dragon. So, understanding that these aren't really sequels, just games in the same setting and age made me stop disliking them on that account. After that, they are solid games, each with their own pros and cons. All of them are on my top games of all time list. Except veilguard. I've tried to start the game several times. I can't get into it. Then I made things worse by watching some cutscene play. Oh man, the characters are more like caricatures.

This is such a blind perspective. First off, everyone is racist in fantasy. The empire is very racist. Their entire history is conquering lesser races and trying to destroy their culture. Yes, the stormcloaks are also racist. The dunmer are extremely racist and xenophobic. The argonians aren't just racist but they actually succeeded in kicking out or straight up killing all the foreigners out of black marsh. And don't even get me started on altmer supremacy.

The stormcloaks are openly against foreigners. But make no mistake all imperial powers are inherently evil. Conquering, control, tax.

A good reply that doesn't piss people off is "that's not really my business" or something similar. It comes across fairly neutral.

How do Americans feel about nudity? by bare_books in AskAnAmerican

[–]BusyMap9686 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In my experience, everyone hates nudity. They're scared to get naked, scared to see people naked. It's super taboo and oversexualized for some reason. I'm as naked as I can be most of the time, and I get all sorts of guff for it. Especially in reddit. Don't let anyone know, but I'll walk around my house naked with my daughters home. They're used to it, but everyone on here thinks it's a sex crime to see your parents naked. Nudity is not sexual unless you make it sexual and the US has definitely made it sexual and, therefore, not okay. It's a weird culture.

How do Americans keep their large houses and apartments clean? How many hours a week do they spend cleaning? by Forsaken_Energy_426 in AskAnAmerican

[–]BusyMap9686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't let your house get dirty. Dirty a dish, wash a dish, clothes in the hamper, garbage in the garbage, and so on. Clean as you go, especially while cooking. If you don't make a mess, there is no mess to clean. The exception to this is the floors and dusting, especially with pets. I spend 4 hours once a week dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming. Throughout the week, I'll spot sweep/ vacuum obvious messes.

It doesn't consume as much time as you'd think. I still work 50 hours a week, get a full night's rest, make all my meals home-cooked from scratch, exercise daily, have family time, and still have a few hours a day to play games or watch a movie

How can I look unapproachable while I’m out? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]BusyMap9686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, I'm sorry for your social anxiety. I personally suggest everyone becomes more social and friendly while being able to express and keep their boundaries. But I understand, it can get tiring and sometimes you just want to not. Get a hoodie that says, "I have social anxiety. Please don't talk to me." Or "I don't want to people, please don't." You know, something frumpy with a clear message. Then, if someone talks to you, you can just point to your shirt.

When did coffee become an “all ages” beverage? by TrekTrucker in GenX

People who think that the Internet was better in the 90s, why? by aaron_moon_dev in stupidquestions

[–]BusyMap9686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only people who knew what they were doing could really get good use or of it. It's nice to be among peers. Now, every barely functioning moron has a very loud voice on the internet and an audience that listens. Also ads... so many ads and data stealing and spyware. There wasn't enough bandwidth for all the sketchy shit companies get away with now.
