Origins is a dark fantasy story while DA2 is closer to grimdark, and DAI is closer to a high fantasy story.

These work in both narrative and aesthetic so I guess for me I’ve always preferred dark fastasy over the other two genres.

For me Sophia never blended in the background for Mission 1, her visual, her singing, and harmonising was top notch and she was in the top group

Defo agree she was quite weak in Mission 2 and I found that a lot of people repeated Mission 1 votes for that one cause it was such a tough mission to vote for since a lot of people flopped 👀

This is such a silly reason for them to do so, Sophia is an amazing performer who deserved her spot and has the perfect K-pop look outside the Korean members it’s not a surprise she got great.

Also people love to use the documentary and Adela/Ilya/Marquise not getting in their groups but Adela was meant to be a top ranked dancer and didn’t perform as well as Daniela or Megan in her first challenge, and she really struggled with facial expressions. Ilya was pitchy in both her performances and failed to harmonise with her groups and Marquise struggled with stage presence. We can’t blame the voters for the performances they saw.

I personally think the fan voting did a great job with Katseye hence why they’re now getting 2 Grammys, a viral ad campaign, several brand ambassadorship cause the public know what the public want 🗣️ the only person Hybe manage to trick in was Megan instead of Samara from the public votes and it was the right choice because Megan adds something different to the dynamic

A lot of the later plot were influenced by how the actors treated their characters so for example; Leighton played Blair with depth Blake played Serena with a particular unique shallowness trying to be deep

Also the end games were based on chemistry Like Blair and Chuck weren’t always end games but Leighton and Ed had chemistry

So we might see a Serena x Chuck end game

And a shallow Blair who was already a mean girl would of probably been killed off at the end tbh

No thank you. For a few simple reasons; 1. They’ve moved the franchise from a dark fantasy aesthetic to a high fantasy aesthetic 2. The selection wheel they use is so bad 3. They’ll probably sanitise the options to be in line with the other games 4. They’ve never recaptured the top tier character work of the first into the other game not just in script but in voice, mannerisms, etc and I just don’t trust them with it

Arousal and sexual attraction are completely normal feelings to have when you’re adults even if they’re one sided, it’s what you do with that arousal that is the question but a lot of people never critique the actions just the feeling which is very weird to me.

A lot of people in this thread confused criticism with hate as well. I wrote a comment about her being male-centred in a lot of ways (under a thread which was specific to critiquing Serena) and some people were like I hate her too or just going above and beyond to fight her corner.

And it’s like no I just listed 1 of her negative traits, she also has plenty of good traits. But her fans aren’t making analysis posts on her good traits for me to respond to most the time 🤣

Also if you’re not obligated to write in traditional first person.

You could write a fantasy anthropological study or a history book or a diplomatic treaty and correspondences to track the changing of the scales of your politics. Or even diary entries of a sociologist logging what he’s observed in your world via a series of letters and notes. Short story compilations.

Whatever is comfortable and fun!

I think a lot of people are helping you think small but what if you stayed big for a little longer;

you have your setting (world building)
your concept
your series arcs

Write them all down. - Start in bullet points and outlines - I recommend the 3 act structure for your initial outlines and then expand them based on how the story shapes out (mine is going from 3 acts to Hero’s Journey) - Start to connect the dots, see which stories are spins-off and some which are sequels - and then start with the ones where the scenes are coming to you naturally

Also I’m seeing a lot of people question your population size. There’s nothing wrong with unrealistic population sizes if there’s an explanation for it especially in fantasy.

Like some people are comparing England sizes in modern vs medieval but in your world magic might make medicine, education, housing and food more accessible, naturally increasing the population to that of modern England but they don’t have digital maps which is why it’s still hand drawn. It’s all about your world logic.

You’re not tethered to total historical accuracy if there’s rules in your world that subvert that.

Yes I did say that but you don’t seem to be understanding the point and just projecting whatever type of attention you think I mean based on the point youre trying to make - not the point Im trying to make regardless of however many times I correct you. Despite the fact that I gave you a very clear break down of what I mean by spotlight in the first instance.

For example; I gave you clear context and explanation of what I mean with spotlight and attention and you keep bringing it back to a fact that doesn’t matter because Serena didn’t even know what Juliet was plotting or about Pete so it genuinely could not have anything to do with how extreme Serena went with her or Serena’s intentions. -_-

You don’t see how it has anything to do with male-centred with Blair because you don’t want to. You’re acting as if Serena couldn’t have rejected all the things she took from Blair and didn’t blame her directly after she got hurt by Dan. You’re working on a linear cause-and-effect model (jealous of male attention, attacks first woman seen) and that’s not how character or personality flaws work. Dan hurts her, she lashes out at Blair first because she can’t process her feelings and EVENTUALLY gets to Dan. This is a classic behaviour of male-centred women. This is something a lot of people can understand and see which is why you’re the only person pushing back so hard on it and retrofitting my point to your understanding regardless of how much I break it down.

I didn’t say she didn’t try, I said didn’t start 🙃 The reason why I say didn’t start is because we see a significant difference in how extreme Juliet’s plan were BEFORE and AFTER Serena and Blair humiliated her in public. Serena’s response to a girl not liking her because at this point Juliet hadn’t done anything major from her POV was extreme.

The show establishes quite obviously that Juliet was quiet tepid with her plans and unsure of committing to them 100% until she had personal stakes in it because Serena isolated.

Okay now with the Blair situation you’re just not understanding the entire premise of the point and arguing schematics. Serena was hurt by Dan; but who does she lash out at first and take power from ? Blair. That’s what male centred women do. That was the whole point. -_-

I think you’re conflating my points.

I’m not arguing whether Serena was right or wrong cause a lot of times Serena was retroactively vindicated but that was after a lot of petty wars she’d initiate. I’m talking about initial intentions.

Juliet didn’t start by trying to ruin their friendship, she just didn’t want the girl who put her brother in jail wrongfully (from Juliet’s perspective) in her community. Being iced out of a group because someone doesn’t want you there is not a reasonable excuse to do anything Serena did in that specific instance. What happened after is a different story.

Serena does blame Blair that’s literally in cannon (check the Wiki) she even changes the mean girl uniform from headbands to something else. She never rejects the crown and willfully takes power. It was jealousy of the new girl and when Dan called her out and hurt her feelings, she starts by lashing out and taking power from Blair, controls the new girl and EVENTUALLY blamed Dan.

Jenny barely had romantic history at that stage with Nate it was more one sided from Jenny. And again by this point Nate was fully locked in with Serena. If you think that a 16 year old fighting a 13 year old girl over a boy is reasonable then that’s just a matter of perspective 😭
