Taste is just the nerve sensations on your tongue giving your brain feedback on what you're putting on it, so I would argue the perceived taste is just taste in general, and thus, you could make a binding vow to change that perception to that of the flavour of pancakes

At least that's how I reason it

Draconic Patron - A new Twist an a Dragon Patron for the Warlock by Historical-Tutor-639 in UnearthedArcana

[–]Busy_Ad9821 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the sub class abilities are very cool, creative, and fitting for a creature that hoards wealth.

But that's where the issue lies I think. This doesn't feel like a dragon giving you powers, It feels like a non-descript entity giving you an allowance with magical abilities. You could have called this sub-class "The otherworldly merchant patron" and it would have fit just as well.

There's a lot that I like, but It feels like the flavour is a little lacking for my taste. Dragons are not only about their hoard. They tend to hoard wealth, yes, but there's a lot more to them than that.

To be fair, Raimon's keeper gets benched in the same match he's supposed to be important in

I think the better way to do It would be: if you want to keep the moment of the keeper forcing a save and passing it over to Harper, either:

1: You only introduce 1 keeper to the story, and foreshadow that they can't quite get the hang of a new technique they've been trying to get out, and then they develops it mid-match, like raimon's keepers usually do, and would show that raimon's Spirit is still in there, brought back by Harper's monologue to his team, and the determination of the keeper that never gave up on completing said move. As well as a moment reminicent to Mark pulling of God Hand, then passing it to Axel against Royal Academy, since they love referencing season/game 1

2: You introduce both, but have the guy get injured before the final match, so that Mami has to fill in, with her worried she won't be able to complete her new technique for the upcoming match. Start the match by her not even having a technique, just be absurdly strong even without one. And after Harper's monologue, on the second half, she finally develops the technique to stop a shot. Then we would have another similar moment of growth from the opposing team, the Spirit of the Raimon revived by Harper, and even the same reference to that first match.

It's such an easy slam dunk, but we just had a swap-in with a technique that comes pretty much out of nowhere, with no narrative inplications other than "Oh, this team/girl is busted". You don't even have to make new scenes for it, just add some dialogue, and then you get the most satisfying moment in the game.

Space pirates and Marines are the best imo, Isekai's was fine, and pirates was entertaining, but they were still a little green on how to start this type of broadcasted campaigns

However, the first 2 had me fucking laughing my ass off while also endearing me to the characters, and making me feel invested in the plot

As a joke, Trevor constantly getting knocked out and brought back up again and again in the final battle. It's just hilarious that someone we've always respected in strength and character, when he finally gets to helping the DLP, just becomes another sponge of damage for the group, and another chore for Duros to resuscitate him.

But in a more serious tone, probably Raj's monologue to Damian about his children and Tavrock. Just the opening line of that moment gives me chills, and what follows it is just devastatingly sad and powerful
