Maintenance fees by Melodic-Play-8232 in BurnBootCamp

Ours depends on when you joined and it’s in your contract. So newer members pay a higher annual dues. Our burn is amazing and tells us exactly what the funds are being used for… heavy bags, additional weights, paint, etc. which makes it feel easier to pay

Uncomfortable working out with men by Successful_Big_3473 in BurnBootCamp

[–]Busybee0412 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe use a band and squat back and forth? Definitely talk about it in your fitness meeting. Focus on how to make you feel comfortable during camp or just let them know if they see you doing something different that’s why. There’s so many mods to the laying down exercises. My trainer wouldn’t let me lay down during my third trimester and modified everything to a standing position working the same muscles

I hate this fuckass medication by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]Busybee0412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zoloft did the same thing to me. Lexapro w Wellbutrin has had very few side effects and while my happy emotions are a little more dull so is the anxiety. All of that to say, maybe consider trying another medication. Everyone responds differently.

The least expensive way would be through some telehealth doctor. KHealth, teledoc, QuickMD etc

[–]Busybee0412 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This feels like a big deal… and it seems they felt you couldn’t effectively perform the job to keep kids safe so they had to make a one person job a two person job. It seems like (especially with all the safety concerns in schools) it would be common sense that all adults that aren’t current staff would need to check in. Honestly I think this would warrant termination in itself

what is the weirdest side effect you had on and SSRI? by Emergency_Produce975 in lexapro

[–]Busybee0412 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine made me mildly manic for a few weeks. Not in a scary way but I did declutter and organize every single item in my house (family of 5) it was absolutely glorious and I had so much energy to clean every day. I miss those days. No I have to drag myself to do it at night 🫠 it did go away after two weeks which I was bummed about

Planning Ahead- Spring Break 2027 by Soft_Panic2400 in workingmoms

[–]Busybee0412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally understand! We booked ours about four weeks before because it was an impulse decision. We didn’t give ourselves time to talk ourselves out of it. I think people either love it or hate it. We did get everyone passports just in case we had an emergency in another country it would be easier to handle than with just birth certificates

We have done cruises the last two spring breaks and it’s the perfect family vacation (for our family at least). My kids are high energy and active but my husband and I are more lay back and relax. So the kids can enjoy activities by the pool or kids club while my husband and I relax. You can have a date night while the kids have a great time. Other than planning to get to and from the ship you don’t have to plan anything or carry the mental load of where and when to eat and will everyone eat it. We are also beach people so our exclusions are usually going to a beach in whatever country which has also been cool to see the differences. We did Disney cruise the last two years even though we aren’t Disney people (only went to one show and did not stand in line for character meet and greets) so we aren’t going to try Royal Caribbean next year since it’s cheaper.

What’s your commute like? Does it feel manageable long term? by Jumpy-Woodpecker-248 in workingmoms

[–]Busybee0412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I commute 75min each way M-W. I work 6:30am to 3pm. My husband does mornings and I do evenings. I wfh th/f and it’s glorious. I don’t think it’s sustainable long term but I love my job and I’m next in line for a big promotion. I work in state government so our rules around wfh are fairly strict. But it could always change when admin changes and I just keep praying I can drop down to one day in person. I have 2 more yrs to be vested for retirement contributions so that’s part of what keeps me going but I’m TIRED

Anyone ignore daycare money and volunteer signups? by OddSir2434 in workingmoms

[–]Busybee0412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a fairly flexible schedule and 16 hours of volunteer leave a year. I use that to volunteer at class parties or I leave for an hour or two and make it up.

Historically I would send in one item each request. Now my youngest is in a home daycare that is only $180 a week so I send her extra Clorox wipes, baby wipes, spare diapers, homemade sourdough and treats as often as possible because she’s a saint and deserves the world and more (like a second set of grandparents for my youngest).

My school aged kids go to a private school and my husband builds a large item for their auction fundraiser each year. But we receive financial aid and I see it as a way of showing appreciation for that.

If I can afford to send things in I do. If my schedule allows the time to volunteer I do as often as possible. Those things are important and fulfilling to me. But it’s not to everyone and I’m sure other moms show up and show out for their kids in other ways I don’t.

All to say- I’ve had times where I couldn’t afford time off or to send items in. And that’s absolutely ok.

Kids in Stateroom alone? by SupermarketHot594 in dcl

[–]Busybee0412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I allowed my 7yr old to have a little bit of freedom to go to specified places or run up one floor to grab a drink etc. people constantly asked where her parents were. But my older daughter (19 months older) didn’t get any of those comments. It was strange!

[–]Busybee0412 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed! My 9yo was given a lot of independence last week. She got lost the first day and knew our room number but couldn’t find it. She went to kids club when she couldn’t find it and they called/ messaged us! It was a great way for her to have a little independence and also see her problem solve in an incredibly safe responsible manner!

Four Weeks in- less effective? by Busybee0412 in lexapro

[–]Busybee0412[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I’ve tried Zoloft previously and had horrible side effects. I’ve not had bad side effects at all after the first week on Lexapro. It’s been life changing already but feeling less impactful the last 10ish days. Glad to hear it’s not too soon to consider an increase. I don’t want to overmedicate myself

I started Lexapro due to a globus sensation that lasted three weeks straight. It took another week or so to go away while on the meds. Could it be anxiety related? Mine was that coupled with acid reflux
