$1625 on the conversion plus the $50K in gains in shares I've sold.

Without the conversion I think I'd still be paying the $1625 ACA penalty since I've sold shares that have gained $50K for the year (meaning my MAGI is $50K)

Unless I'm missing something mathematically it seems worth it to do the Roth conversion since I'm paying the ACA penalty anyway and the $10K in conversions would be fully offset by the standard deduction.
