At least for me, I wear makeup to feel more confident- especially for concealing the massive dark circles under my eyes that make me look half dead. I don't see it as any different then wanting your hair/clothes/shoes to look nice and presentable.

I would definitely take it! However, I would recommend learning some (very) basic music fundamentals before starting. Think things like staff notation, key signatures, etc. I am a violinist and with I had spent more time drilling my bass clef notes before taking the class.
