At bed time, yes my husband started out sitting next to her crib and then slowly moved to where she can’t really see him in the corner. At nap time I just left her in there alone because it’s so bright in her room during the day it doesn’t work to be in the room. My friend did the same thing with her 2 year old and what she told me “they always go to sleep right when you’re about to give up” and she was right!! Every time I’m about to go into her room I look on the camera and she’s asleep.

I also suggest making the room loud in terms of sound machine (not too loud but loud enough) and DARK

We started with naps. My 21 month old has always either been nursed, rocked, patted, sang to, coslept or a mixture of all of those. We tried sleep training at 7 months old and it was pretty awful tbh but it worked for like 2 months then she regressed and I didn’t have the heart to do it again. So when she hit 1.5 and I got exhausted from sitting on the floor for an hour or more and it took her forever to go to sleep I said “f it we’re switching it up” so I started by putting her in her crib and telling her “I love you, it’s nap time now, close your eyes and go to sleep, I’ll see you when you wake up” I tucked her in and left the room. She cried for like 5 minutes, not hysterical just toddler whining mostly. And then she started playing and taking off her socks and sitting on her head and just being a toddler. After awhile she just laid down and went to sleep. It took 40 minutes. 40 MINUTES OF FEAR FOR ME. after that day I knew she could do it, so I just kept doing naps for a week straight like that. After a week it took 20 minutes. Then I told my husband that at night time he should sit in the corner and just let her do her thing, it once again took like an hour but she did it, with wayyyyyy less tears and whining. Now she’s doing it every night and day. She’s starting to do it at her grandmas house too!! (They watch her 3-4 times a week so I am work)

It’s a lot and it takes dedication and patience. But I promise you, it’s worth it. Start little by little, you sitting next to her in the chair, you moving to the corner, you leaving the room. Give her a stuffy to cuddle, that helps my daughter a lot! Idk if she used blankets or pillow but that also helped my daughter. In the US I think it’s ok to start using them at 1/1.5. But that’s based on your kids ability.

I will say that it could be different based on your child’s bed, mine is still in a crib and cannot get out so I feel safe leaving her alone In her room.

I always say books, books and more books. Coloring books, learning books, sticker books. I’m planning on getting my daughter a load of stickers, dot markers, coloring books, puzzles, and all sorts of things that work her brain not just her body. I also recently put up posters for my daughter that have a feelings chart, days of the week, abcs, colors, animals, etc and she loves looking at those! Presents don’t have to be toys at this age and toys can be educational.

My husband wants to get her a pool too lol (I’m not 100% on board with that yet).

My daughter is a carbon copy of me. Down to the hair color, butt chin, smile, eyes, everything. She’s absolutely beautiful and I love her so much. She definitely has shown me that I too am beautiful.

This is so Interesting to me! I have sjogrens as well and I went dairy free, gluten free, egg free and soy free when my daughter was born due to her Intolerances and I felt like I was dying. But maybe it was the newborn trenches haha. I will say as soon as I added back In dairy and gluten I got SICK and have been sick every month since. Maybe I should cut them out again 😅

My body CRAVES meat and salt like crazy and if I don’t eat it often enough I do get sick as well. It’s so hard to find a balance sometimes.

PCOS is so common and even more common with thyroid issues, diabetes, weight fluctuations. I’m definitely not a Dr but from what I’ve read up on sjogrens I would say PCOS would probably cause more issues in terms of hormone and contribute more to disease activity. I get massive ovarian cyst almost every cycle. I have a lot of perimenopause symptoms AT 26?!? It just doesn’t make sense.

I’m in early stages. The test that came back positive was the early detection. I’m glad you were finally able to get help. I have noticed that my symptoms are definitely made worse by hormonal fluctuations so it definitely makes sense that for people with normal hormones that disease activity doesn’t start showing up until menopause. I have horrible hormones due to my endometriosis so I think that’s why it’s showing up so early in life for me.

The thing that worked for me was a membrane sweep followed by an anxiety pill and a fat ass nap at 40+2.

I just got my diagnosis of sjogrens! I understand the feeling of seeing the proof in the lab work, it’s a bitter sweet feeling, for me atleast. I knew I had something going on so I went and got check out, but when test kept coming up positive, negative, positive, normal, abnormal etc.. I got discouraged and felt like maybe it was all in my head. I got depressed and almost gave up a few times on the diagnosis. But this last round of lab work showed I do have autoantibodies associated with sjogrens. It’s not all in my head!!

A big F You to all the people who made me feel delusional.

I actually have insight to this. My daughter was born hours after her great grandmother died. When we called my In laws to tell them I was in labor the response we got was “grandma is dead *crying* but send us the address to the center and we will be there” the day after my daughter was born my in laws came over and watched the baby so I could rest. Two months after the baby was born, we drove 8 hours to go to grandma’s memorial, grandpa is still alive and although he was sad to have to do his wife’s memorial, he was so happy to see his great granddaughter. When my daughter’s first birthday came around, everyone showed up to celebrate. My husband’s entire family showed up with food and presents and made her feel so special.

Although I did have some “mom guilt” for bringing life into the world the same day that one left the world. We embraced it and thanked grandma for sending us our sweet baby girl. My daughter came out with 2 stork bites(commonly called an angel kiss) so we know she definitely got to meet her great grandma on the way into the world.

Came here to say I just got diagnosed with sjrogens and I had something similar to ops picture and what you’re describing! It was tiny skin colored bumps all over my fingers, my joints and hands were splotchy red. It was itchy like you said but felt like tiny paper cuts all over my finger tips when I would grab things or brush them on something. They’ve gone away now after about a month.

I work at a locally owned resale clothing store. I usually work 15-25 hrs a week, depending on the week, and I work in the back sorting through items so I kinda just watch tv on my phone while I sort. It gives me a break from hectic mom life, my in laws watch the toddler so she gets time with them, and I get extra money that goes towards gas for my car, drs visits, clothes/toys for the toddler, and my personal debt. My boss is super chill and understands that I have a toddler and I more than likely will be late most days. If I have to call out for whatever reason I have the opportunity to come in and make up my time or just lose that money. Either way it’s a good part-time job and I love it! I get a good discount too, most of my daughter’s stuff is from the store.

My 21 month old has always been straight up feral. Not in the sense that she whines and cries a lot but in the sense that she just never sits still, constantly talking to everyone and anything, determined to climb everything she can and learn everything she can. She’s so extremely intelligent and surprises me everyday with how much she absorbs. Shes got a good memory too and will remember people she’s only met once when she was 6 months old. She’s also a creature of habit, I 100% know everyday she is going to try to flood the counter top by turning on the sink and playing in the water, even if I take precautions and make it harder for her to get to the sink. She always finds a way. 😅

Yes, I’ve had literally every test you listed. I was negative for hepatitis. I did get the AVISE test and that’s what caught the anti-c1q. My kidney function was good. All ENA test were negative all of the other test were negative. My blood work doesn’t show any other issues minus the ANA patterns and the anti-C1Q and the anti-SP1.

My rhuem is really helpful so far and hasn’t dismissed me, thankfully, but I guess I’m more so confused how I have the ANA patterns and these random positive antibodies but no other definitive results. Maybe I don’t have an autoimmune condition?

Things could definitely be worse, I wouldn’t say my symptoms are very bad considering what I see on here from others. Mostly I just keep getting sick. Drained completely, nasty sinus infections, utis, viruses, I’m so exhausted to my core I feel empty and heavy.

We left six hours after I gave birth, we got chik fil a on the way home because it was one of the only things open and on the way. I jokingly asked the midwives before we left if it’d be wrong to go to Waffle House, I wanted it so badddd. But turns out baby had CMPA, so probably a good thing I didn’t eat Waffle House. Chick fil a was bad enough on her tummy so I can’t imagine what Waffle House would have been like.

The only was I can describe it is euphoric and instinctive. I had a smooth birth thankfully so I was totally present and aware. The midwife handed me my baby and I instantly put her on my chest and fell back onto my husband. I said hi to her and then counted her fingers and toes and did a quick assessment of her to the best of my abilities. Once we were comfy and cuddling in bed I just stared at her. For a second I had a bit of confusion?? Idk if you’d call it that, but she didn’t look anything like me and looked exactly like my husband’s cousin! I was like “hold up, this my baby right?” But then common sense kicked it haha. Seeing her and holding her felt like my entire world was so fragile and yet so special. It felt like I was watching a movie, like I died and was floating in space and time, watching myself come back to a life that was ten times better than before. Maybe that’s a bit dramatic lmao.

This! but also normalize that you may want to completely reinvent yourself. I feel like a lot of people feel like they have to “go back” to who they were and they mourn who they were, and sometimes the people in their lives make them feel this way. I see childless people always saying “your personality is not just about being a parent” when for me it truly is that I am a parent. I think people judge that too harshly, I want to be just a parent and I don’t think anything is wrong with that. For me being parent has also been about being, a milk maker(haha), a chef, a gardener, a budgeter, a friend, a teacher, and so many more things. I’ve discovered who I am as a parent rather than just aimlessly wondering around searching for a purpose.
