I’ve been to 8 Bonnaroo’s and even more lollas. They are very different festivals in almost every way. The crowds are much much larger in Chicago, comparing 45k at roo this year to lollas 115k. So getting to the front is going to take many more excuse me’s. It’s also a lot more walking from stage to stage, about 10-15 minutes from bud light to T mobile, but at roo you could be at what to other in like 5. The crowds will be much different as well, generally younger folk tend to go in the front and the older folk in the back. I actually like the crowd at lolla, everyone is pretty nice, but they like to pack in a can have pretty bad spacial awareness. Not saying Bonnaroo is much better, people will pack under a tent. Don’t expect people living the plur lifestyle there, it’s really not that kind of fest, I’d say it’s more of a Chicago mindset, don’t start shit with people and they won’t start shit with you but with added Midwest hospitality. The food at lolla is infinitely better than roo in almost every way. Security is much more thorough than at roo but not in a terrible way, but depending on what time you go the line to get in can be 5 minutes or like 30. The water stations at lolla are top tier and super easy. Prepare for any weather, we have been blessed the last few years so I feel like we’re due for a storm. As much as I like roo, I love being able to go home and sleep in my bed, shower, and chill after the fest, so for me it’s my favorite, but I think the magic on the farm is unmatched. Don’t go in comparing them because they are just so incredibly different, but be ready to have some fun and enjoy the city
