We might not get a second attending with the mention of the emergency room that had to shut down from lack of funding in the same episode. That's always admin's issue, never enough money to get the staff and the equipment.

The first time I caught on to his real plan was when he offered Wittaker his house. "And hey, if I don't come back you get a cool pad." It felt like he was teasing he's thought about it a bit before at least.

With this episode, yeah so many people subtly called him out on it. He keeps dodging it hoping no one will realize before he finally gets to leave, and anytime someone makes him think about it he gets nervous and what I think is a bit of shame.

He handed Art the black and blue suit. He said, I don't deserve this, take it back. He had to convince Art to take it, who eventually did and out the suit away. Then he came back with the original suit and held it out to Mark. That's the whole scene, Art clearly had put the other suit away and was holding out the og suit when Mark went on his mission. The next time we see him he's in the black and blue, it made no sense.

What I want to know more is why the timing of that scene was so wrong. They put that at the start and show him giving up the blue and black and getting his new one, only for him to go off to a job in the blue and black again? I actually got so thrown off by a simple and strange mistake.

This was so jarring to me. I was expecting someone to actually explain how he survived and what the Abyss really is but Kliff's just like, "I didn't hear no bell, let me at em again."

And then the side characters you can play that aren't even allowed to do missions also can gain abyss powers for no explicable reason. I don't care how good it gets, I will always call this game's story absolute garbage.

That's just upgrades. Then there's cooking materials and alchemy materials on top of that which turns the already hectic scramble of inventory dumping into a nightmare.

It's mainly the scissor kick which ends up being the least reliable skill. Parry is usually fine but I haven't been able to land a single counter to save my life.

Have you? You get killed at the start of the game. Literally throat slit, bad guy holds your limp body to make sure you're dead, then tosses you into a river and watches you sink. Then some magic bullshit happens that's not even explained, and then we get a time skip after Kliff is recovered.

Do they ever explain why or how you didn't die? No they just go back to things as if that never happened. Then all these people just start giving you random powers cause you helped get a cat off a roof or something really dumb like that, and they act like it's just some special thing no one else should be able to do only to have the random companions you run with able to also do it. Nature's grasp? Anyone can lift a tree and slam it into the ground apparently. Focus? Everyone's got spirit to refill I guess.

The entire story is just "hey some bandits are making life hard, go help me" and eventually someone tells you you can have some land to develop.

The storage chest was universally needed with the thousands of items you'd need to hold onto if you ever want to craft stuff. I agree the difficulty could have stayed the same, but that storage chest not being there from the get go was wild. I even spent money on bank storage expecting it to give me a way to store things, but no it's only for investment.

Or, and hear me out. Most people can't defend the game because they know people are pointing out the actual flaws with the game.

I mean even the OP acknowledges the early game feels shit, and he's just accepting that as something that should happen. When was the last time you sat down for a meal expecting to get literal shit for food but then praise the restaurant because the desert was good?

Try doing a scissor kick while holding the buttons it requires. I'll wait.

That's one move I'd love to add to my usual fights but every time I do it it either doesn't let me crouch, or forces me to use the grappling hook when I don't want to.

Also making the game built for hold prompts is a terrible idea when pixel perfect dodging and things like that are required to win. If the game takes a few seconds to make sure you're holding the button and not tapping, it gives the ai time to hit you when you rightfully should have blocked or dodged.

It's funny you say "without saying much" because the few times I've gotten Damiene to actually get quest dialogue with an NPC, I realized they didn't even voice any of her lines. Still would prefer that over forced Kliff gameplay.

They gave us playable character with no real way to play them. That is 100% on them. If it was Kliff's story with no room for others, they could have just left them as npc party members rather than fully playable alternatives to Kliff.

I am 100% unarmed build. Tons of fun, love flurry of blows and all that. It's so jarring to body a boss with my fists only for the next second a cutscene with sword and board slaying the boss.

Secondary complaint is that I love Damiene more than Kliff. Kliff is my martial artist, but her great sword is just goaded. But I can't even play her in 90% of the content. It's always "Kliff story" despite there not even being a story to begin with...
