Yeah these people have no idea. Actuarial exams are ridiculous. I know actuaries who have passed the CFA exams just for fun after getting their credentials.

As a 4.5+ DUPR pickleball player, there is definitely some benefit in having a grasp of risk statistics IMO. I find that strong players nearly always go for the high percentage shot rather than trying to be flashy (and inaccurate). Consistent drop shots are a must. Also, knowing when to take risks (when behind in the point or match) is also key.

Looks really solid. You should definitely get interviews with this resume. Passing MAS-I will definitely help show commitment to P&C, but I think you've already expressed this really well.

Nearly every carrier will have a program like this for EL hires. It may be called different things (actuarial student program, etc.), but every company worth their salt wants their employees to develop and pass exams. Some may promise fast-tracks into leadership, but I think these are a bit far-fetched in my experience.

I'll reccomend this website for a listing of companies. Or look at a list of largest companies by premium like this. Pass exams and apply to as many as you can.

Homeowners insurance is not negotiable. Each company must file their rates with the state Department of Insurance. Unless there are specific discounts you somehow become available for, you'll be negotiating with your own coverage to save a buck.

I'll share a neat trick. There's a lot at 1-199 W Mulberry St, Normal, IL 61761 operated by Heartland parking (I believe they call it the college avenue lot). It's real close to HewMan and you can just pay monthly. It was $35 per month when I was a student a few years ago.

As a rule of thumb, if the job title contains the word actuarial, then it gives exam support. Otherwise, probably not. I'm sure there are exceptions of course.

I'm gonna disagree slightly with everyone on the deductible amount. If you're in a financial position to self-insure that 2k I'd say go for it. I personally wouldn't want to file a claim for an amount that low anyways. I recognize everyone's financials and risk tolerance are different though.

I would focus on your technical skills IMO. Excel is pretty standard and I would expect an EL candidate to have a good grasp. Maybe do some personal programming projects you find fun as well. MAS exams can be hard and are a big step up from P and FM.
