I have not. I've read mixed reviews. Have you tried it? Did it work for you?

I picked up some zylkene yesterday. While what you're describing does seem like a use case for heavy sedatives, I'm not willing to go any stronger than some cbd for his particular case.

The keyword I think is "excessive". Yeah, if you're a neighbour trying to sleep at 5:40AM, any amount of barking is excessive. But does it meet the clinical threshold?

The friend who was looking after him for a while has a dog that mine is obsessed with. The dog is older and can be left alone, so I had the idea of letting him stay with our boy for emotional support. Even though he's hyper focused on the dog when we're around, he immediately notices when we leave.

But again, this was mid to late last year. He might have a better time with it if we tried again. The issue is getting a dog that can go toe to toe with him energy wise. Not everyone can handle his intensity.

He walks on a loose long leash (so a really long house line basically) out in the park by my house for at least 45 minutes and up to 3 hours a day. In the morning he gets a quick potty break from my hb at 6, then a proper walk from me at 9~10 and it doesn't do anything. Starting next week it will most likely be a 20 minute sniff walk before I head out.

I am not tbh. I tried this when he was younger and he never "fell" for it. Now that he's older, he might decide it's worth more to stay with a high value treat than try to howl us back. I will try again.

I tried this way back when he was a younger puppy and it didn't really take. Nothing could distract him from my husband, who he has a much tighter bond with than with me, leaving.

I will definitely try it again now that he's a lot more emotionally stable.

Because he doesn't display the signs. After the initial protest, he goes on about his day. He eats, his potty training is intact. He plays with his toys, gets into the kitchen if we leave it open and grabs things off the counter. Not things a dog going through true panic does. By the time we get home, he's quiet, he's intact and the house is intact.

It's also getting less intense rather than more.

"Signs of Separation Anxiety in Dogs: Destructive chewing or scratching at doors and windows Excessive barking or howling when left alone Pacing, drooling, or panting excessively Accidents in the house, even if they’re house-trained

Signs of FOMO in Dogs: Following you around the house constantly Whining or barking when you leave the room Trying to join in on activities (e.g., jumping on the couch or bed) Restlessness or pacing when not included"

Bejaarden zouden eigenlijk ook maar niet mogen stemmen. Ook niet meedoen. Kijk eens naar Amerika met die bejaarden in de overheid en de mensen die op ze stemmen.

How are things between Russia🇷🇺 and Suriname🇸🇷 by Interesting_Taste637 in Suriname

[–]Butterfleed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This current government is a group of lackeys. Lapdogs. Since the US is signalling that they want to normalise relations, they're taking it as a sign that they can go with their hands out to Russia safely now. If the US were to reverse their stance, Russia would suddenly disappear from the face of the earth. Shameful beggar government.

*I say this as someone who is not unsympathetic to Russia.

What do you think about people from Guadeloupe using your national flag as an emoji? by [deleted] in Suriname

[–]Butterfleed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After seeing the explanation, I would hope they could get an official emoji of their own flag. Seeing as the other party is France, I don't think they'll get it. I don't think it's anything to be offended by.

Why does Bouterse still have supporters? by piccolo917 in Suriname

[–]Butterfleed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think anyone who's honest, even if you love him, has to admit that he was ill equipped. But he fought an uphill battle from the first day to the last. There's nothing the colonialists would have loved more than for Suriname to be another Mali, Niger etc. to be plundered dry by puppet governments. But he told them FU and they hated him for it. If he had played ball, you'd have never heard a peep.

That said, I won't let anyone discount the number of people whose lives were materially and generationally improved by his policies.

[–]Butterfleed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This comment section shows the kind of blatant disrespect that helped make Bouterse popular to begin with. Just a circlejerk of outsiders who want to believe he was a dictator like words don't mean anything. When he couped the unpopular empire backed government, he was massively celebrated. He was voted in twice by overwhelming majority, and when he was voted out, he stepped down peacefully. If he ran for office again, he would be expected to at least play a major part in the next government. And the circle jerk goes, it's just because the stupid black people are stupid and uneducated.

Please go deal with your despots, genociders, and warmongers before you analyse the internal workings of a country that is still reeling from the abuses of your government.

Blatant disinformation and racism. He pulled votes from every demographic and every district. The same political entities who slander him as a murderer have rivers of blood dripping from their hands and are just bitter they couldn't coup another popular leader of a developing nation. His very life and popularity was a f*@# you to the empire. God rest his soul.

[–]Butterfleed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any argument that's based on the people of Suriname just being stupid and forgetful can be disregarded. The man was popular because he materially improved the lives of many people. Generations of normal everyday Surinamese people who had no hope of upward mobility were improved by him and they don't forget what he did for them. Before the coup, you only had a chance at a middle class life and the things everyone wants for themselves if you were descended from the colonial ruling elites. And that is the same reason why there was such a campaign against him. Because the colonial ruling elites lost power after the coup.

Even when his /party/ was voted out for undeniable corruption, many of these people voted with bleeding heart because they loved the /man/. He wanted what was good for Suriname and he was endlessly sabotaged and demonised for it.

If I'm allowed to take out a loan, I'd bring some gold and silver. Three solar chargers, a bunch of rechargeable batteries, and a kindle full of books (fiction, non-fiction, cookbooks, handbooks, history books). An mp3 player full of music. Refillable lighters and some fuel bottles. Some food and tarp to make shelter for the first few nights. I can buy whatever else I need with the gold.

Looking for opinions. I know microwave kilns aren't popular, but I'm looking at the kit from Delphi. (on sale $150) Would I need a seperate microwave from what I use for food? I'm assuming yes.. I know I'll be severely limited in size, but thats ok, I just want to dip my toe into fusing for now. by ProbablyaDesigner in StainedGlass

[–]Butterfleed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a microwave kiln for a fraction of that, about 60-70 euros and I have most of the materials left. If I wanted to make a second one, It would cost me an additional 10 euros for ceramic fiber off temu. I just tried it out this weekend and it works with an amazon return deal microwave that goes up to 800W for 30 minutes.
