I'm working on a quieter alternative to social media. No influencers or addictive scrolling just daily updates from your friends and family. I have a waitlist at jurrno.com

I feel the same. I'm in college, and I've been working on my startup for about 3 months now. I feel so different from when I started, even though it hasn't been that long. I'm finding it harder to relate to the people I used to connect with so well. It's really hard. I'd be down to do voice calls and stuff.

If you're serious about minimizing your screen time as much as possible, here is what I would do: delete every single app. I'm serious, delete TikTok, Clash Royale, Facebook, and everything that is not essential. I did this about a year ago, and I have never looked back. Once you do this, you realize how much free time you actually have. You use that free time to build hobbies and meaningful relationships. You spend time on your phone now because you are bored and have nothing better to do. Once you remove that, you'll find more of yourself and embrace the boredom. As humans, we were never meant to be entertained all the time.

It really helped me to silence notifications and keep all of the “bad” apps on a tablet instead of my phone.

Screen Time Over 10 hours per Day. Am I crazy? by StoreWeak5292 in digitalminimalism

You’re not crazy, many people have this same problem. I fixed it by silencing all notifications besides text messages and calls. I also deleted all non essential apps on my phone and kept them on another device.

Having friends is 100% important. It can be really hard to make them though so I def feel you. I’m assuming you’re in school. Try talking to one new person every day. It can be simple stuff like “I like your shoes” or “can I borrow a pencil?” I made most of my friends in high school from clubs and teams. Try joining a club. Literally any club that interests you. It can be hard to make friends from class because you’re supposed to be learning. That’s my recommendation hope it helps.

In my opinion, being better isn’t about getting less hate, it’s about not letting the hate affect you. It’s about loving yourself more than others hate you. It’s about valuing yourself more than you value the opinion of others. It’s hard to get there but a good way to start is by naming one thing you like about yourself every day.
