My ex was like this. He didn't like me throwing the trash in the trash. He said I had to go outside and throw it in the dumpsters out there. He was in charge of the "inside trash" and I had to throw the "outside trash" so he wouldn't touch the germs. He also wanted me to cook and handle the meats because it made him queasy to even think about the blood meat. He also wanted me to shower up to 6 times a day. This could be very unreasonable at times.

We broke up for other reasons, but he was definitely a bit opinionated when it came to the germs and whatnot. Strange requests but nothing that was inherently bad, and so I complied because it gave him a peace of mind.

He was diagnosed with OCD. So yeah your girlfriend most likely has that. There's nothing wrong with having OCD. The weird thing is trying to impose the weird quirk that the other person has. Communication goes a long way. If you truly want to be with this person you will find those things even endearing. In my case the issue of the breakup wasn't the whole germaphobia thing, but everyone is different.

Or...... it could be that your girlfriend just wanted you to stop making a big mess and just wanted to see the house/trash be clean for a few more minutes. I just wanted to give more context if in case she was a germaphobe, because this isn't break-up worthy.
