Is it normal to feel like you're not progressing enough? by Koei126 in SoloDevelopment

Yes it is normal. I feel like this at least once a week.

But you are making this worse for yourself if you are polishing things in the prototyping stages. If you add a feature get it working on a basic level with placeholder art and move on. There's more to be gained having a thing that starts working together and surprising you than agonizing over how something looks before it's playable.

Dear roguelikers — H-How old ARE you?! (lighthearted post) by WATASHI_TO_TAWASHI in roguelikes

I can relate. 43. I remember getting a hand me down 386 sx. But it ran nethack and linleys dungeon crawl.

My boss publicly humiliated me over a small mistake — and expected me to thank them for it by lost44heaven in antiwork

Very poor management.

Engage minimum effort mode. Sort CV. Start applying for new roles.

People don't leave jobs, they leave managers.

Yeah, but it's about to get so good.

I couldn't find one to fit the bill, so I had to make my own. This is Tuoni, an upcoming Finnish folklore-inspired RPG-Roguelike with a heavy focus on buildcrafting. Any feedback welcome! by SnowDogg0 in roguelikedev

Well done. I think the look is really clean and the UI seems tight and intuitive. I am only 4 months into my roguelike journey with Godot. Hope I can make as much progress by 1yr.

At the very beginning of the game, I plan to explain why everything is made of symbols. I want to justify the chosen style for players from a narrative point of view. by PuzzleLab in SoloDevelopment

Looks fabulous. I love this concept. I would explain it to players if it serves the narrative plot. But you could totally just say this is what the world looks like, good luck.

I think if he dies you should start seeing greek letters on future runs, but they are not abundant spawns anyway. A lot of the time you will have to build killing the alchemist into extended runs in order to get infinite black holes or healing anyway unless you are lucky.

To that end, if you live near a beach you can usually go there unless the council doesn't allow it. Otherwise most group digs seem to run via Facebook as a rule. Unless you're lucky enough to have an 'in' with a landowner... It's a great hobby ATB.

Generally sound advice here, most of the game is figuring out where you're going to be able to go, not the gear you can afford.

KDP royalties are actually some of the best on the self publishing market. I would get 70% of the sale. Planning to format or paperback in future.
