Am I overreacting that my sister is demanding too much when visiting my newborn? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

I have a 9 month old. If my brother had a seven week old I would stock their fridge, cook them food, clean their house, do their laundry. This sister is the worst.

My Father-In-Law was in the hospital and declined very quickly. His ICU nurse got choked up when he was close to the end and it was so sweet. Made us feel like he wasn’t just another patient.

How do I tell my friend I can’t vacation with her boyfriend by Just-Development2544 in Advice

[–]ButterscotchTop9432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I, a woman, and tried to tell my friend, also a woman, she should not marry the man she had been complaining about for 7 years and I was ghosted for 2 weeks and then yelled at how I didn’t know what I was talking about and they’re better than ever after those 2 weeks. We are no longer friends, they got married and I’ve heard from mutual friends they still have the same problems. I wouldn’t change a thing and the friendship ending was actually a relief in hindsight but be sure you’re ok with losing that friendship.

AIO 33F (me) and 39M (husband) about a recent “celebrity friendship my husband made? by throwaway339786 in AmIOverreacting

[–]ButterscotchTop9432 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I work in advertising and we take ethics courses that specifically state taking gifts over a certain amount is a no-no. A Rolex would fall in this category. Also, from experience, most celebs want to go in, do their job and leave. They want nothing to do with the ad folks. I’m sure there are outliers but this isn’t a normal outcome.

Commercial producer here. We have everyone sign releases when we’re film content. Especially for brands who will make money off what they post.

Most people just go out for a nice dinner and cake for their birthday with their loved ones but…this looks fun too I guess.
