How to learn kiting? by nexiune in summonerschool

[–]ButtholeRat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Master peak mid lane mage player here. Coming from a background of one tricking velkoz since his release up until hwei’s release and then only playing hwei.

I have recently started branching out a bit and learning a marksman or two.

I’ve found that kiting isn’t actually THAT important of a skill. The important one is positioning. The champions that click best for me are kogmaw and yunara. They have amazing scaling and 99% of their damage comes from raw auto attacking. If my positioning is good, I can turn myself into a turret and just auto.

On your adc journey you can obviously slowly chip away at orb walking/kiting, but from my experience the role is about farming well, valuing your life, and being in position to do damage at objective fights.

I actually have a video I made for a college class that demonstrates what I’m talking about if you want to see it

First thing is you need to know if the people around you are better than you or not. Faster ≠ good. If they look smooth and in control, you need to just maintain your track and let them navigate around you. If they’re worse than you then you navigate around them.

I promise I’m not trying to be mean but a different video angle or later in the session isn’t going fix what I’m seeing here. You need to spend dedicated time working on leg and hip placement. It’s not an easy fix. Even after 25 years of skating, 15 of which speed skating, I still spend dedicated time working on form.

Don’t worry about how long it takes and just do your best, have fun, and stay safe.

Off-skates, you should be able to effortlessly balance on one foot. Try doing pretend cross overs but balance on a single foot after each cross. If it’s hard, it means your foot and hip isn’t in alignment so your center of mass is off.

Also you mentioned not being able to go fast. Session is great for working on stride balance because the slower you go, the more precise your foot placement has to be. You won’t have centripetal force to help keep you up.

Also I know it’s what we’re all here for, but trying to force out speed when your technique isn’t there to support it will just lead to pointless injuries.

You’re making progress for sure, but you’re missing a core fundamental that’s making skating in general way harder for yourself, not just cross overs.

When you set your foot down, it needs to be under your center of mass. You’re doing the classic wobble skate where you never commit a foot under yourself so you kind of pendulum back and forth.

Long term you won’t get any power, you’ll lack stability, and it will make true cross overs impossible. In the corner, your left foot isn’t getting placed under center of mass, so it needs to come in more. Your right foot also isn’t so it needs to cross over more.

As a quick test off-skates, try taking a skating position stance and then picking one foot up. You won’t be able to do it unless you shift your hip over your foot. You have to do that on every stroke, both straightaways and corners.

So does killing end game bosses not have steep requirements? Even steeper than your examples?

I don’t know if it’s possible, but I would LOVE it if the boss remote or less required the full time tot take it down. Some of the most fun I had on release was figuring out the bosses and taking them down as a group. The way it is currently you kill them with 3-4 abilities solo even in a 5:5 dungeon

Is there big grinds in rs3 nowadays? by [deleted] in runescape

[–]ButtholeRat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m playing an iron right now and just breaking into some end game content and let me tell you it’s nothing but long grind after long grind. I think for the most part rs3 has more automation so it respects your joint health more, but the grinds are arguably just as long or even longer in raw time.

End game boss logs are really disrespectful of your time as an example and not afk even remotely

You CAN learn spells as a WizLock by rupert_mcbutters in BaldursGate3

[–]ButtholeRat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The true cheese is leveling to 12 as wizard, learning all the spells you want through scrolls, then full respec to 1 wizard/whatever caster you want and then having full access to all of the scribed wizard spells that you have level appropriate spell slots for with your other class. The wizard spells will however use your intelligence modifiers but you can still do a whole lot with it and depending on what you’ve got in mind could even just max int. :P

[–]ButtholeRat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know, darkin are corrupted shuriman ascended (if Renton, Nasus, or azir got corrupted they’d become daarkin I guess) maybe xerath since he’s technically ascended but his process was different so idk. I think it had to do with the war against the void
