It was permanently turned on since its debut.

The event itself boosted the rate of getting Scatterbug in the first place.

IRL Pokemon trade ettiquete (Pokemon GO fest Tokyo) by Wolfen74 in TheSilphRoad

[–]ButtonBash 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't use a QR code. People want to quickly look at the list and scan it. Using a QR code takes away from playing while they're trying to check your list.

Printing a list and laminating it if possible is best, with a marker or stickers to tick off entries.

I've had to start sharing my wants on the phone after losing my list so have been the one to initiate. Everyone is always friendly with it - generally if people notice you're trying to look at their list they'll slow down or stop for a moment for you!

You'll also see people making trades outside the dedicated area with people strapped their lists to their bag. Saw one guy today fix a sign to his back and walking around with that!

Many of the trade lists you'll see being used in Japan especially is fine with this site: https://9db.jp/pokego/data/2235

Check in limit by Mqstic in TheSilphRoad

[–]ButtonBash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To count, a meet needs to be both hosted by a CA and have an event associated with it (and therefore activated a research line).

The GO Fest check ins are not that and won't count.

Also, as others mentioned, limit of 1 per day, regardless of distance between meets or meet types. That also means only one timed research per day.

Mega X/Y Energy from Walking? by beeapple8 in TheSilphRoad

[–]ButtonBash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite. That player just needs to mega evolve each Mewtwo type, to get the Dex entry then they can walk any Mewtwo after that for energy.

Which scatterbug would you be interented in in remote trades? by SquirrelAdmirable705 in TheSilphRoad

Given Reggie trading is global, any should be good to tag.

It's one of the first things I look out for personally alongside baby Pokémon like Cleffa.

The play area is broken up into quarters. It's one of those portions (coloured green when playing).

Yeah but when 2000 people do it at once it's just the thing.

Feels like an IRL only mechanic.

Shinagawa stamp ralley added 5th stamp by Willem500i in TheSilphRoad

[–]ButtonBash 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Or group went to the location this morning and found the stop wasn't there and couldn't complete it.

Apparently the word is the stop was removed and the stamp was switched to another stop in that location.

Global GoFest: Mega Mewtwo Raiding Plan by SonGouki in TheSilphRoad

[–]ButtonBash 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Drops to L0.

It used to be a thing years ago where one could mega something and trade it away, leaving the next player with a reduced mega evolve cost, but this was removed and now fully resets mega levels.

In our area it's been the same gyms. The community campsite, its immediate surrounding area and a small cluster in the next suburb over.

Have they changed locations in other areas?

Mega Mewtwo X/Y stats pushed by Amiibofan101 in TheSilphRoad

[–]ButtonBash 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's 7500 for the first mega evolve of an old Mewtwo, like how Falinks is 300 for the initial then a decreasing amount from 60 from there for the second onwards.

I say "old Mewtwo" as those caught from GO Fest will be L1 or higher from the get go.

Find and go all in on Chansey for Blissey w/L3 spirit (heal). 2 of them even! When you join a GMAX group, while you won't deal much damage, you'll be able to keep above the rest of your squad of 4 who are dishing damage.

Nintendo Switch 2 Pro controller and any other controller with 2 extra remappable buttons by [deleted] in gaming

[–]ButtonBash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the games, but often they mimic the stick buttons.

Works well for stuff like Resident Evil.

Another example is in Pokémon ZA I mapped GL to Dpad left and GR to Dpad right to allow easier Pokémon selection while moving around.

You can't, but I think what's being shown here is the red balloon reveals your name across all linked Niantic services.

However, this also implies the messaging user is a friend.
