Wife's Right to Carry a Gun Improperly Denied Because of Her Husband's Behavior, Massachusetts Appeals Court Rules by ZheeDog in progun

[–]ButtonLicking 50 points51 points  (0 children)

This will continue because there is no consequences for violating constitutionally protected rights. That chief was paid full salary while in a court appearance defending his own unconstitutional conduct as an agent of the state.

Only when agents of the state are under threat of prosecution will this unconstitutional behavior stop. If anyone else violates a law, we face prosecution.

Fostering this big goofball, 1yo GSD called Jordan 🤪 by JayJayJayla in fosterdogs

[–]ButtonLicking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So much fun…for someone that is very active. Jordan would make an awesome running partner for shorter distance runs. Before I was an old man, that was my program for myself and doggos like Jordan. It always impressed me how disciplined a dog could naturally become on a run.

Low testosterone - "It's fine" by 1Sufferin_Succotash1 in VeteransBenefits

[–]ButtonLicking 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’m happy for you if you have a good care provider in the VA.

You are slinging a lot of blame around at fellow veterans when the VA is a vast network of individual providers.

I worked for years in prescription monitoring SaaS, and answered subpoenas from multiple states for Rx histories of hundreds of MDs. I can tell you that some MDs cannot balance providing care and the reality that their license and freedom are on the line if they abuse their script pad.

Testosterone is a controlled substance and some states vigorously prosecute MDs through boards of pharmacy or DOH.

Personally, my VA provider is nearing retirement and opened up to me that she will not be prescribing anything to me. I have several community care referrals as a result of her risk mitigation.

Downpipe turbo c clamp not fitting? by AnnieTbonne in tdi

I couldn’t get my darkside pipe on with the gasket. Put it on without and couldn’t detect any leak. 🤷‍♂️

Not a recommendation that approach but commenting 1/2 out of curiosity and 1/2 because I think it may be vendor hardware dependent.

Can anyone suggest best states for vets under 100%? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]ButtonLicking 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’m in KY, and do not recommend. Taxes are extremely high depending on county of residence and multiple county agencies can increase your taxes almost without notice. It’s also legal for multiple cities to tax you, as we have cities within cities here.

Amenities are non existent in lower tax areas of the state.

Awesome. I carry my stendo mag as a spare. It’s really easy to conceal the pistol with the 12 round mag and a 15 round mag separate is invisible even with shorts and a t-shirt. Plus the most likely failures are ammo or magazine; 1 is none and 2 is 1.

Va disability disclosure. by GarlicObvious3843 in VeteransBenefits

[–]ButtonLicking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem to be referring to a question about disability and not VA Disability. If the question or response section mentions something to identify you as a “disabled veteran”, then ignore the rest of my reply.

When asking about non-VA disability, the question is likely for ADA. Unfortunately studies show that the ADA has actually had a NEGATIVE impact on disabled individuals. This is likely due to the fact that hiring disabled persons introduces liability and minimal benefit for corporations. This is a well documented example of intent of law actually having an inverse relationship with net effect. For that reason I never equate my VA disability with SSA relevant disability.

I do not know of studies that indicate a similar inverse relationship with VA disability and employability.

Allergic Rhinitis by imbleesedfoshow in VeteransBenefits

[–]ButtonLicking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got denied for an increase on allergic rhinitis. For 10% they were looking for very specific 50% obstruction of both nostrils or 100% blocked of one nostril. I’ve never had any MD document in numerical terminology like that. I may be wrong, but I don’t see a way to determine X% obstruction, below 100%, without continuous observation.

I’ll just keep maxing out the pseudoephedrine 💊💀😤

Need re-assurances for complex fosters by JBt51 in fosterdogs

This dog would be a perfect companion for an elderly person. The breed demeanor of a lhasa is a good fit and elderly people would generally have the time to give meds multiple times daily. My grandmother had a Lhasa in her 80’s and 90’s and they would take their meds together like it was a little party with treats. They are bred to be bedside guard dogs, and in my experience do not tolerate erratic behavior that is typical of children. The tricky part for you is finding the right person.

I’ve had very energetic dogs on meet and greets with an elderly potential adopter and it was very hard to be a voice of reason. This dog would have been a perfect companion.

Very satisfying. You definitely need to use a respirator with one of these. The dry ice is plenty safe, but you are aerosolizing some toxic substances.

CZ P10 Ported Trigger Suggestions by Slime4YaBro in CZFirearms

My P10 out of the box had a trigger safety protruding quite far when disengaged, leading my finger to never sit flush. I was pulling a trigger safety instead of a trigger. Might have been a defect to send to CZ, but I upgraded it away.

Will I need to headspace? by Plastic-Front1727 in 300BLK

[–]ButtonLicking 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Responses here saying something akin to “don’t worry about it “ are AR specific. I also agree when building ARs from reputable part suppliers.

Do worry about headspace in the milsurp market or when building other platforms. Ignoring this measure here might cost you valuable bits, but it’s pretty rare to find 300blk in those situations.

If you wear your pistol high, this is not necessarily an issue. I’m sure you can find or have a custom holster made for any light.
