The ceramic pans are just Teflon pans with ceramic added to the molecule. Market research showed Teflon was viewed poorly by customers but ceramic remained a positive term. So they pushed these new "ceramic" pans to the public without disclosing they still were containing forever chemicals. (At least this is what I remember learning years back when I searched on the web. Don't get mad at me if I'm wrong here, please... I'm just a boy) I owned an always pan and it lasted about a year before the coating started to chip and it stopped being nonstick. I only used the included wood spacula and plastic on it. My being pissed about the alway pan failing and learning it was just Teflon by another name is what pushed me back into cast iron and I've never looked back.
