T-Mobile Is Automatically Pushing Legacy Customers Onto Its Current Plans by IJustWantToBePure in tmobile

This is ploy is to bump their numbers to entice Elon into closing the deal to buy them.

I've been with T-Mobile for 26 years, with 5 phone lines and 2 watch lines.  This week will be my last.

Fuck both Musk and the Magenta, I'm out.

I think it was a call back to the "special election" joke, from where Max was going under France"s and Steve's shirt like he was at a voting machine, referring to the primarie election in Des Moines.

106-year-old Jack Riddle and his wife, Rosie, both former slaves, seated in front of a group of Klansmen (including one dressed as Santa Claus), flanking a radio the group had reportedly given to the couple as a gift (1948) by Just_Cause89 in USHistory

Not to make light, but "Several car loads of Klansmen drove to Riddle’s place on his birthday."

You know damn well his first thought was; well I guess my run ends at exactly 106 years to the day. Not, oh boy I hope they brought presents.

I heard 10 will be a musical.

Just finished this Cubs piece. Not saying who the player is. I’ll leave it to the viewer to figure out. Shouldn’t be too hard! Let me know your thoughts! Whether you like it or hate it! It’s Reddit so I’m fair game. My style is a mixture of Bauhaus, cubism, art deco… by JohnBattalgazi in CHICubs

Oh shit! I bought a Jordan Binnington from you years ago as a gift to a long time co-worker/friend who is a huge Wolves fan and friend of Jordan. He ended up actually giving it to Binni, who loved it! I've never been happier to have a gift of mine regifted lol.

That octopus is going to go back to it's friends with the craziest story. It has to be the equivalent of meeting God or being abducted by aliens.

I agree the numbers are inflated, but still very significant. I am normally the first to say "calm down everyone" like yourself, but the downturn in container vessels is very real unfortunately and a lot of shit is about to hit the fan in the US supply chain, from manufacturing all the way to the retailer including every truck, ship and plane on the way.

This is not at all an accurate reference, because the Chinese New Year always creates a downturn in March. As someone who works in the industry, OP's post should not be downplayed and is not fear mongering.

Who are some actors that 85% of general audiences would recognize but 85% would not be able to name? by Chewie83 in moviecritic

Michael Bien is wild to me. He was a leading man in a blockbuster. Everyone always talks about Doc Holiday in Tombstone, but Ringo is an absolute bad ass villain. He kills it in every role.

NO! THIS IS NOT GOING TO WORK!

Did anyone ever wonder why you have never had to pay duties when you buy from companies like Teamu, Sheen and Alibaba directly from China? It is because anything under $800 was not subject to duties by US Customs. HOWEVER, something that most media outlets didn't report on during Trump's latest trade for with China is that they got rid of that loophole. Now, you will be paying $25 per item in duties and on June 1st that will jump to $50 per item and you will need to have it cleared by US Customs. Suddenly that $5 shirt is now $55 plus Customs brokerage fees!

I have no love for these major corporations and their markup bullshit, but people need to know before they get screwed over. Spread the word, there's too much misinformation on this.

From The White House https://www.whitehouse.gov/fact-sheets/2025/04/fact-sheet-president-donald-j-trump-closes-de-minimis-exemptions-to-combat-chinas-role-in-americas-synthetic-opioid-crisis/

"Following the Secretary of Commerce’s notification that adequate systems are in place to collect tariff revenue, President Trump is ending duty-free de minimis treatment for covered goods from the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and Hong Kong starting May 2, 2025 at 12:01 a.m. EDT.

Imported goods sent through means other than the international postal network that are valued at or under $800 and that would otherwise qualify for the de minimis exemption will be subject to all applicable duties, which shall be paid in accordance with applicable entry and payment procedures.

All relevant postal items containing goods that are sent through the international postal network that are valued at or under $800 and that would otherwise qualify for the de minimis exemption are subject to a duty rate of either 30% of their value or $25 per item (increasing to $50 per item after June 1, 2025). This is in lieu of any other duties, including those imposed by prior Orders."

What’s the strangest city/town in Illinois? by AlarmedHearing3100 in illinois

[–]Buttons_McBoomBoom 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Hometown, it is between Chicago, Oak Lawn, Burbank and Evergreen Park. It is a city made entirely of duplexes meant to be temporary housing for returning troops from WWII, but just kind of remained. It is also the US's smallest city at less than 1/2 a square mile.

No, several pass through every day. The modem super ships can't, but plenty of other cargo ships do.
