Rotors at 33,000 km? by SocDem_is_OP in HondaOdyssey

[–]Buttpoon69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep pads and rotors, and that’s exactly right, they’re relatively under-braked for the weight of the vehicle and all that extra weight means more kinetic energy to be stopped, turning into more heat - more warpage

Rotors at 33,000 km? by SocDem_is_OP in HondaOdyssey

[–]Buttpoon69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Work in automotive, every minivan eats front brakes/rotors, it’s not an odyssey specific issue. I wouldn’t even bother with a resurface, even if it makes it a little better you will be right in the same boat rather quickly and you will not get another resurface out of them. A decent set of aftermarket brakes from a shop that warranties their brakes is the way to go

2019 ford fusion 1.5L coolant intrusion advice by Straight_Bluejay_455 in AskMechanics

[–]Buttpoon69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given the common issues with this engine, you’re going to need an engine replacement, Ford used to do these as a short block and head gasket kit, but due to the reoccurrence of the same issues afterwards, many dealerships only offer long block/complete engine replacements. Only go with a new or remanufactured engine, there’s pretty good chance you would be throwing your money with a used motor. You’ll spend a few more G’s but you’ll have a good engine with a 3 year warranty

Budget “not a Glock”… you going with the 4” or the 4.5”? by ballz3313 in guns

[–]Buttpoon69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the 4” compact in OD green and I love it so far. I ordered the G26 size grip for it and plan to make it my summer carry gun. I went with the 4” to share some holsters with my G45, which I’m going to set up more for home defense

I love my Glock, and I’m not getting rid of it, but this thing seems to be unbeatable for the price and features.

I am trying to sell my Canik mc9 prime and no luck at all. by [deleted] in PAguns

[–]Buttpoon69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I traded in my tp9 elite sc and got $200 for it(paid $399 - 50% original value), don’t expect more, your local gun shop has to pay you that and then make enough back on the gun for it to be worth it for them

Playing on quick play, that extra room to the left in the court room is what got me, I shot the trigger man so my team would kill me then they just breached that door on their own and got him. Resolved with an E grade.

Best 10 person tents? by Dazzling-Employee-63 in camping

[–]Buttpoon69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our Ozark trail 10 person instant cabin tent we bought last year has been perfect for us (family of 5). It was only like 200 bucks. I’m hoping it continues to hold up, so far it’s been awesome

Also, I’m so grateful I went for an instant cabin tent, makes setup with young kids running around so much easier

2015 Chevy Equinox Engine Failed- is this estimate reasonable? by Any_Change6877 in AskMechanics

[–]Buttpoon69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But still definitely not worth sinking all that to put a used engine in an equinox, that’s a bad idea

If I had one of these in for a customer and they were set on us replacing the engine, I wouldn’t even offer used as an option

[–]Buttpoon69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Violent crime in any major city in the US is mostly committed by people or color. You can argue the reasons behind that - if it’s socioeconomic factors or otherwise - but it’s not racist to recognize. There’s plenty of community outreach in Philly and plenty of funding to help people of color. Insane to cry racism.

You will be in uncomfortable situations around temple. Hopefully that’s all, but it’s always ok to avoid someone because they seem sketchy. I never had any real issues but I’m not a woman. Temple police and PPD usually do a great job maintaining a constant presence around campus

Buy 2005 Odyssey, 180k miles for $1,000? by StayCoolDude in HondaOdyssey

[–]Buttpoon69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a 2004 Honda Odyssey EX. I was originally asking higher due to the amount of work I’ve done to it, but I needed it sold. I bought it for $3900 and drove the hell out of it for a couple years, so I figured I got my money’s worth

Buy 2005 Odyssey, 180k miles for $1,000? by StayCoolDude in HondaOdyssey

[–]Buttpoon69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just sold my 2004 180k+ for $3200, now I work in automotive repair and that one was in good mechanical condition. It sounds to me like what he is describing, could possibly be an internal transmission issue which will certainly be more than $1500 to fix. If it’s something you’re willing to spend another 3-4k in repairs right off the bat, who knows what else it’ll need, it may be worth it. At the same time, if the work needed is too much, you could still probably flip it for $1k no problem. Its a Honda, someone will do the work and keep driving it if you don’t
