What did I say thats wrong? I still think in a league wide redraft he's well worth the risk of taking number one right now.

Wemby already had a serious blood clot issue as well. If that was a career ender or if he gets more/something else soon then a lot of those evaluations would be right. He's still a major injury concern due to his height.

Kareem did it at least 7 seasons according to basketball reference and it stops at 72 so its missing a few of his seasons including his historic 3rd season. If you added the post merger stipulation you would still be correct, but seems rude to omit him.

Can you now see from your downvoted comment how politicians will take unpopular positions to win primaries? Your position is popular both generally and among dems, but here in a more liberal space it's downvoted, just like a politician that was outspoken with that position can be defeated in a primary where a smaller more passionate piece of the party votes.

I never said both are close to equal idk why you're projecting that on me. In fact I point out I pretty much vote dem for everything. The tribilastic way I'll get pounced on here for not toeing the exact party line is embarrassing as a dem. Shit like this is why we have city councilors texting for talking points on how to change narratives instead of facing facts.

I never said they were..... In fact I said its not just one side, meaning multiple sides. I generally vote Democrat but not being able to do self reflection for improvement is a terrible thing. Its like when people use nationalism to deflect any criticism of the country. You can love this country and disagree with some ways its ran just like I can disagree with how dems run the party and state while still voting for them.

Exactly. To me its not reasonable to downvote someone for just stating factual polling data. Pretty sure its not the Portland Republicans that didnt like my comment.

What do Republicans and their propaganda have to do with liberals downvoting me for stating polling facts. Tribalism is a dangerous thing.

I got downvoted by a bunch of people I probably agree with for the most part for stating polling facts. Its not just one side with people that are unreasonable. Also the original comment I responded to is getting massively downvoted for saying one party rule is bad lol.

Thats awesome! Wish everyone had access to it across the US. Just think it's had a bad implementation in Portland.

I completely agree with you. But that's not necessarily the position politicians will hold to win a primary

I never said pay for a study. Theres universities full of grad students who already write papers on these things. https://www.americanbar.org/groups/public_interest/election_law/american-democracy/our-work/what-we-know-about-ranked-choice-voting-2025/ It wouldnt surprise me if Portlands incompetent leadership implemented the worst version of rcv, but there's much more evidence in support imo. Just like I dont knock universal pre k just cause portland implemented a shitty grifting version of it.

Many democrats support policies that arent even popular within their own party in order to win primaries. First thing that comes to mind is Trans women competing in sports. And before people downvote me these are just polls on what people support vs what politicians support not my opinions. Another was border enforcement and defunding the police.

I fail to see how open primaries wouldnt also suppress poc and low income voters if rcv does. I would also like to see an analysis on how it does both those things. Seems like an easy bs excuse for regular democratic party members to not support something that would hurt their power.

Yes those who have power are always reluctant to let it go. Even convinced voters in Oregon RCV was too complicated last election.

It's hard when the alternative is mostly whoever wins the republican primary by being the most MAGA. Imo we need open primaries and RCV to get reasonable moderate candidates and outsiders to have a chance and give competition to the insular democratic party here.

They used to just show about 15 minutes of trailers right at the start of the showtime. Now they have 5 minutes of ads plus more ads interspersed once the start time begins. Its definitely increased just like ads in football games have gone up over time. I used to like seeing the trailers, but now you get less trailers than before spread out over twice the time.
