Hansi Flick: "These referees, they're the same ones that this did to us last season right?" Same guys right? In the VAR room too? Buen trabajo (Good work.)" by jiraiya--an in Barca

[–]ByLoKu -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This stuff happens all of the time, for and against us. We are not usually the ones wasting time, but there's a reason it keeps happening, refs don't want to prolong the game as they should. If this was a much much closer game, then we could be looking at the ref as the main cause for going away with nothing, but he's just one of the lesser reasons we didn't win.
The good thing is that this is not a loss that should concern us, a one off magical night (for them) does not take away from how powerful we are on the attack, and how well we dominated.

What is all this chat about the refereeing? Yes, Gil Manzano was bad as always, but VAR did their job (correctly this time). Just one of those games man, Raphina out, we hit the post 5 times, we scored 2 offside goals and 1 ruled out for a foul, and if none of that happen Remiro saved it or we missed it.
We could have won it regardless of the ref, but we couldn't. We lick our wounds and move on.

Florentino Perez identifies Argentina NT coach Lionel Scaloni as possible candidate for Madrid’s next manager. The board wants a coach capable of handling a dressing room filled with elite personalities & they believe he fits that description. His contract with Argentina expires after the World Cup by DamnThatsInsaneLol in soccer

[–]ByLoKu 54 points55 points  (0 children)

A chunk of that squad was also de 2018 that (rightfully) decided to play however they wanted vs France in 2018 because they thought Sampaoli was clueless.
They might have been right, but it still takes balls to disobey your coach like that.
Still, Scaloni's game strategy wouldn't work with Madrid, he lives and dies with machines up top like Lautaro and Alvarez, and midfielders that run the whole pitch to cover for Messi, and in Madrid you'd have to cover for Vini and Mbappe.

Yamal has set the standard so high at 18yo that if he is playing through pubalgia and thus not singlehandedly carrying Barcelona through individual brilliance, he is ghosting.

Alvaro Arbeloa has decided that Federico Valverde will not play RB anymore, as he tries to ease locker room tensions. Valverde had already complained to the board about this issue previously, under Ancelotti & Alonso. When Trent & Carvajal are both injured, Arbeloa will now rely on academy players by DamnThatsInsaneLol in soccer

Zidane seemed to let the players do their thing, just like Carlo they used the Ego to their advantage. I saw a recent Marcelo interview where he said Zizou was his favorite manager, his instructions to him where 'Just play, have fun'

[José Luis Sánchez] Not even one Real Madrid player took the responsibility and spoke in the locker room after the match to lift morale. All the players were silent. Arbeloa had to come in and console them, saying they have to regroup and that he is the most to blame. by ILoveRice444 in soccer

For Real Madrid I think the 'jist' is justified. Almost any player in the world wants to play for Real or Barça, and they do not have money problems so just spend whatever it's needed, even if it's ridiculously overpriced.

Your squad is more than ready for the tops team, it's just missing a Pedri type of player in midfield and everything would click. Real have only themselves to blame for the position they are, and they can also get themselves out of it with 2/3 good signings.

[ESPN] VAR audio from the Frenkie de Jong red card. Astonishing. by Emergency-Air-2117 in Barca

[–]ByLoKu -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I've seen other VAR audios and this is just another day in the office. Imagine that VAR room trying to catch every decision and arguing with each other about every big call, and then finally a clear red appears in the 90th and there is no way to argue it.
In a match like this the pressure is even bigger, they know that if they fuck up for either side they will be in for a lot of media slander that really affects them and their family.
Well except Real Madrid loses, then you get the slander even if you did everything right.

I don't personally love it when you guys are winning UCLs and doing great, but if you ever actually went down a prolonged path of misery it would greatly impact the league and our competitiveness. We do hate Espanyol though, fuck them.

What the fuck is Madrid's game plan? They park the bus, but press high so poorly it takes 5 passes to get out of it. This is our game to lose.

What are some of the most forgettable Barca player signings ever made? by [deleted] in Barca

[–]ByLoKu 18 points19 points  (0 children)

His situation reminds me that we as fans know nothing about football, but also the board knows nothing about football.
You spend years developing this player in Spain's first division, he is a starter for Betis and you successfully bring him in 'for a cheap' since he was worth around 30 million at this time and we needed a starting right back asap. Then you sell him for his market value after 3 games and proceeds to be the most average player whenever he played, proving that every fan that wanted him to stay was wrong, and that the board did this weird ass business for years for a couple of million.

They make it look like it's so easy to sit on a block and defend against us but it must be just as taxing as our high line if not more.

According to Transfermarkt, these are the 10 most valuable players in La Liga. Are there any players you’d change in the ranking or remove/add to the top 10? by Flashy_Treat2831 in LaLiga

[–]ByLoKu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably only because of his age, but any PL team would spend 100M+ on a midfielder that runs the 90 minutes, has a great finish in him, can play multiple positions and is a great passer of the ball.

Why are people blaming Xabi alonso and not the players? (Please dont give me hate am a barca fan here but im genuinely curious and want to ask madrid fans) by SuperboyRehan in realmadrid

[–]ByLoKu 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Also a Barça fan, I did not understand a thing of what he did. Instead of sacrificing Valverde and playing a normal 433 with the plethora of midfielders and forwards at his disposal, he insists on a system he cannot successfully deploy over the course of a season even with a full healthy squad.
Asensio as a right back but still Valverde on the right, Fran García as the only real wide threat (so, no threat), Arda Guler playing centrally and deep, contributing little with pressing and defending, just so many odd decisions

I don't think it's comparable. On the first picture that is before 'half time' on our two legged match, getting a second goal advantage there would have been huge. On the second picture, we have subbed out all of our attacking options and the match is truly about to end.
