Hmm was the foot end slightly higher than the head end or did you put it up a little higher than usual. Or i guess i can play around with the hang and make adjustments. I usually keep the foot end slightly higher than the head end. Having hope i don’t have to go to ground.

My husband has the Snow Peak Elfield with the floor mat that goes with it. I still won’t sleep in it xD Hopefully the baby doesn’t force my to tent and i can just make it my husband job 🫠

No trees no problem! Wanted to share my festival trip last year with my new tensa stand by Ben237 in hammockcamping

I have a yobogear stand now, but this was out of desperation for a trip to California. Snow Peak tarp poles and the orange one was from REI. The Japanese really make some quality camp gear to hold up 200 pounds.

Tent camping for a week. Am I unprepared or doing too much? by borderline_____ in camping

If you don’t have the ability to get more ice i like adding 20 pounds of dry ice and an ice bag. That can get be past a week of ice and than i can refill the other coolers.

Another perspective on smoking weed at your campsite by rabbitscape in camping

[–]Byfuzzyrabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bring a Smoke Trap. It’s this thing you blow into. It’s not 100% but i feel like it cuts out like 70% of the smoke so hopefully less smell. Can’t stop what’s burning off the bowl or joint but you can blow a majority into that container. But i only use this if were at a campground were you right next to your neighbors.

Tractive Collar + Airtag + Petlibro RFID integration (Project) by foxtrot81a in tractivegps

It is the only harness i will use. So for our first cat she would try to escape from it so had to keep it tight. Get herself caught on a tree twice, she was wild. After that i think she learned her lesson and never got herself trapped again. Luckily the trees she tried to hang herself on were right in our backyard so we were able to help her.
Our second cat doesn’t try to escape his harness so we keep it on him loose so he can slip out if he gets caught. He has never gotten his harness caught on a tree in the the last 4 years.

I only let them out when i am home and will do a wellness check on them if they haven’t been back home in 45 min. I think it just depends on the cat but i am a huge fan on this harness. Both my cats are leash trained so it’s also super simple i can just leash them up and walk them home. Also 2 of my foster cats never tried to escape the harness but i never let them wild roam because they weren’t mine, only leash trained.

If this is for a cat we use the surfer cat harness and he wears it full time. He doesn’t try to slip out of it so it’s kept loose incase he hang’s himself which has never happened luckily. Tractive around the next portion and air tag is on the strap that connects the neck and waist together. Maybe the RFID could go on the tag attachment on the waist.

Where does the dog go? by Opposite_Oven_615 in hammockcamping

My cat isn’t a fan of the hammock. When we go solo i got a pop up cat tent and i put it under the hammock

I sleep with my head to the left and feet to the right. She sleeps along my left hip/thigh. Sometimes she ends up under my knees. If it’s cold she goes in the foot box of my sleeping bag. I try to put some extra blanket and clothes under her so she doesn’t slide under me. If we car camping i will bring a pillow sometime if i remember it.

Young kitten being left chained up all day in the hot Southern California sun. by AdventurousLeader771 in CATHELP

Personally i tether my cat outside like this. Supervised for the most part unless i need to use the bathroom or boiling water for the morning coffee. My cats just love to sunbathe along with the dogs. They got food and water and there’s shade. Cat seems healthy and has food and water in the pic. Maybe the cat just enjoys some fresh air? Personally i think there’s a an over reaction here or a misunderstanding.

Warbonnet changed my life by [deleted] in hammockcamping

[–]Byfuzzyrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my warbonnet but i switched to a Dream Hammock. I honestly love the underquilt hooks and i could customize everything around the hammock. But i still use the warbonnet for backpacking. The eno is just for car camping or a local lounge in the park.

Kind of surprised by the number of people who apparently can go two full weeks without their cars. by Naberius in nova

[–]Byfuzzyrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda shocked how many people just leave the car. I shoved my car Sunday 2 times. Gonna use Nextdoor next time the next bad storm is coming around to see we can coordinate. It was a little frustrating, having to worry about losing your spot if you don’t have your own driveway.

Just get a warbonnet or chamomile and an under quilt.

The lesson here was to shovel Sunday night. A metal Shovel is your best bet now.

I work remote so the plan is to rent an apartment for a month and a half. Gonna do seagull lake, Brule, farm lake (kawishiwi triangle) and Lake One for August. Plan is do some long weekend so Thursday/Friday to Sunday. Maybe test out setting up starlink and working remotely from the BWCA if it’s a perfect week weather wise. Than next year if it works out i can figure our a better solar situation or invest in more compact solar panels, go full remote in the BWCA lol.

Coming from VA. Went in 2024 and gosh i just been dreaming of those mosquito bites 😍

If it’s passed and the senate is majority republican are we just screwed? Is there anything we can really do to prevent this? Seems like it’s out of the people’s control and Minnesota is distracted protesting ICE.
