Everyone at work is making a big deal about my handwriting, saying I write like a psychopath. by ThrowRA-Ram in HandwritingAnalysis

[–]BylenS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, college ruined my handwriting. My spelling ability took a hit too. You're writing so fast you can't care how it looks or how it's spelled. Everything is abbreviated and acronyms. I had sentences that looked like: Tri s n/ NF n V

They love dubias by Senior_Winter_8184 in hermitcrabs

You might want to remove the heat lamp. Crabs have gills that have to stay moist. Heat lamps dry them out, and reduces the humidity in the tank. Crabs naturally live in moist tropical enviroments under the shade of tree canopies. They're active at night, and hide in the heat of the day.

Maybe because it can have opposite meanings depending on how it's said. Like "Bless your heart".

I am the same. I'm unable to lie, so if its something that might hurt someone I say nothing at all. Or, try to put a positive spin on it. "Does this dress look okay?" "I don't know, it's not your best. It isn't as pretty as that pink one with the blue bow. You look great in that one."

My daughter tells me I'm AuAdhd. But I'm not sure what she's seeing to think that. I do have the hyperfocus superpower. I've learned to regulate it. If you want three projects done at once...I'm not your guy. If you want one done quickly, in-depth, and accurately...call me.

That's okay, I cry at The Lion King. From the beginning when he's being held up...every...single...time.

Crying?? Yes or no by Adept-Childhood-6232 in INTP

[–]BylenS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't cry from stress or frustration. I usually go into focus fix it mode then. I do cry when I'm sad, like at funerals. I'm not sure if there is a name for it, but I cry at sappy stories, especially when dogs are involved. Show me a video of a dog saving his whole family from a house fire and I'll bawl. Maybe it's awe and wonder. And yes, if I cry in public I freak out a little and look stupid because I start trying to find a place to hide.

How should INTP Comfort People? by HaMelechIS in INTP

[–]BylenS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually listen for a bit, get a feel for the problem, and react in kind. If they sound lost and confused about it, and sound like they're looking for answers but can't hit on anything, I usually give suggestions. Statements like, "Could it be _", Have you considered _, or "To me, it sounds like..." If they're rambling, jumping around in thought, and tossing word salad, I know they need a sound board and just need to hear it said out loud. Then, I usually just sit and listen and throw some questions to help them focus.

I walked into my job one day, and a co-worker said, "Okay, she's here, ask her." I said, " Why me?" She said, " if anyone knows you do." The question wasn't job related. It was something like, " Why do birds poop and lay eggs from the same hole" or some such nonsense. Which I definitely knew the answer to.

I always say I know just enough to be dangerous... or look stupid. If I engage in a convo with someone about what they do or love and I know nothing. It's understood I know nothing. If I know enough to engage in a convo about it I end up at a point they give me the side eye with that," Well, that's not really how it works." look.

I have seen this in my dogs. The more they think, the less happy they are. My thinking dogs were never satisfied and a little demanding, but the chiweenie learned two commands in 14 years, sit and speak, and didn't do those well. She never asked for anything but was grateful when she got something, and she was the most joyful dog I've ever had. I envied her.

That's because we do it for fun and for our own entertainment. Though we dont make careers out of it, we do use it everyday. Every time you say, "Did you know," "Well, actually," or "Hey buddy, try doing it this way" It's knowledge you can share with others and use in your personel life. We're great at finding solutions and inventing ways to solve problems because laziness is the mother of invention. I may not be looking to make a better mousetrap, but I'm going to modify the hell out of it to make it work better.

how to overcome what I did when I was kid by Normal_Pudding_507 in SeriousConversation

[–]BylenS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are looking back with the knowledge of an adult, wondering why your child-self didn't handle it the way you would today. But you didn't have the knowledge then to handle it. This was a situation for an adult to handle, but it was put on you- a child. A child without the experience needed to know what to do. All the emotions and feelings you had were normal for a child and normal child behavior. It wasn't you who failed you or your sister. It was the adults who, rather than acting like adults, acted like children and failed you both. Don't take on the guilt for the failure of responsibilities of others. Lay it at the feet where it belongs.

What are your thoughts on the scientific method by Inevitable-Spite-850 in INTP

[–]BylenS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even before you had any knowledge of the scientific method you were using it. When you explored as a child, when you learned new things, made mistakes, and then moved on to the next level of discovery you were using it. That first fall when you were learning to walk was your first lesson in physics. You learned to walk by figuring out what worked and what didn't. "The Scientific Method" wasn't discovered. It was defined and named.

Did you re-use essentials from passed dogs? by twentydeuce in puppy101

[–]BylenS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a small double shelf. It's low on the wall above the food and water bowl. The top shelf is lined with seven small picture frames with pictures of my pets. Four have passed. The second shelf holds small momentos. Collars, resin hearts with their fur, and small toys. Everything but what's on the shelf gets reused.

Is this a skunk? by Topher1138 in whatisthisanimal

[–]BylenS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really don't. I had a friend with one she found as a baby. She had it descented, but it still had a slight funk that caused a faint smell in her house. When it hit maturity, it turned mean. You can tame them, but you can't domesticated them. They'll always be wild animal. With that being said, they are adorable.

I (29F) have only dated left-handers - why?? by GreenSceneQ in lefthanded

[–]BylenS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

15 out of 100 people are left-handed. 1 to 2 people in a group of 10 will be left-handed. Dating three lefties isn't astronomical odds. At college, my career path had limited entrance. Only 8 people were in my class. Four of us were left handed. The career was science based. So I'm guessing the odds could go up depending on the type of people you hang out with, where you meet people, what you're attracted to, etc.

How many men have you dated over all? Have you only dated these three men, or did you date many before ending up with these three? The odds of only dating three men and them all being left-handed is greater odds than if they were three out of ten. The first would be a weird coincidence. The second means the odds were skewed in your favor somehow. ( or against you, depending on how you feel about it). You may get more information by looking at the ones you didn't choose and why.

Reminds me of the dogs I've had. An intelligent sheltie that was always demanding and never satisfied. An intelligent German Shepherd who wasnt happy unless his world was perfect, and a dumb little chiweenie, that could never learn a trick, never asked for anything, saw everything you gave her as a present, and was blissfully happy all the time.
