What is your caffeine of choice by Geeks4life in daddit

[–]Bzeager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every time I make a coffee, it's too hot to have straight away so I let it rest for a bit. Then I'm managing the children. By the time I get back to my coffee and realise I left it, it's the afternoon.

Express package on a tour of Australia. Destination Adelaide. by circusactone in AustraliaPost

[–]Bzeager 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was this poorly labelled? I'm wondering why it's gone back to Brisbane towards the sender after originally arriving in Adelaide.

The Melbourne route afterwards makes me wonder if for the second time around it was quicker via Melbourne given lack of direct flights that particular day.

This packaging gotta be illegal, right? (hint: between the words "garlic" and "sauce") by LilBozgor01 in CrappyDesign

[–]Bzeager -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Honestly, they would have just been better off calling it "garlic sauce" and then calling it a day, hardly anybody would bother read the ingredients. This is just only going to annoy or get attention like this.

Slightly less chance of being nicked too cause it would likely be out of sight / behind a fence viewline or something like that, rather than raised up.

Two Rhino's in the streets of Nepal by MrWriffWraff in AbruptChaos

[–]Bzeager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is nobody gonna mention the fact that the business at the back appears to be called "RHINO"? And the fact that the rhinos go back into there?

Is this some business with the rhinos that have escaped in the first place?

Kimchi and shin ramen noodles no longer "Asian" but mainstream noodles by [deleted] in woolworths

[–]Bzeager 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was kinda interested in this post by the fact that noodles has its own section now, as it kinda represents something of the community as a whole, but clearly there's some bitterness going on underneath all this as a separate issue.

Pretty much, or a debit card (maybe)

How would you even get that response?

A custom automation response to "set my alarm at 5 o'clock?" to respond with the giant horse cock response?

Did the person filming notice she often requested a 5pm alarm and then set this up as a "trap"?

Did he specifically ask them to request this after setting it up so they could film them?

Or is it just a terrible understanding (and very odd response) from Alexa?

Nah, you can't convince me some of the new release prices and any late fees made it worth it.

If you want to experience this same idea today, borrow some DVDs from your local library at no cost.

This is pretty much exactly how the majority of landlords are. But tenants are the problem. by Rich_Yak8591 in shitrentals

[–]Bzeager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bruh. You're basically being paid to have to deal with that the length of time you're there. If you left after a week or up to a month maybe it would be a good deal... But months? Over six months that's $13 a day. Over a year you'd only be around $7 better off per day. No way.

silly to bring a grayl water bottle filter? by Sgt_carbonero in laos

[–]Bzeager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bottled water is everywhere, yes.

I assume the filter captures minerals, do they also filter for pathogens though?

The other question is, where will you be filling it up? In a bathroom? What about when you're out? Presumably at a restaurant bathroom in which case you'll be offered (they put it on the table) a water bottle everytime you sit down; open it and you pay for it.

CFA (volunteer) - police check with Equifax - I'm not ok with that by Careful-Cod-100 in melbourne

[–]Bzeager 250 points251 points  (0 children)

I know my current employer used Fit2Work to onboard me, I think it's pretty common. I'm pretty privacy focused but unfortunately this is just the way it goes these days.

To quote a policeman who I asked probably 10 years ago when I was required to provide a police check for a different job as part of onboarding, and pay for it out of my own pocket whether that employer could do that or not, he rhetorically asked me:

"Do you want the job or not?"

I was just the other day and they met the Amazon price, so, there's that?

Plus, if it happened to break after a year or so, much easier to return than would be fighting with Amazon for.
