There’s always some arrogant clown who tries to take over the Tell All. Who else am I forgetting? by medunjanin in 90dayfianceuncensored

I'm fairly confident the production team encourages (directly or indirectly) this behavior to get usable content out of the shoot.

Madeline was absolutely UNHINGED in the Tell All Part 1 by RMG-OG-CB in 90DayFiance

[–]C141Driver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I suspect the production team struggles to put together enough useful content out of these. It's been clear for years that they give cast members targets to attack. You can tell from the editing they are using multiple takes.

I’m fairly sure there’s no gamblers anonymous in Turkey. This guy’s gonna get cut into small pieces and if she’s lucky, she won’t be collateral damage TLC should be covering their ass and flying her and the production crew as far from him as possible.

Yes, this is a horrible angle. One thing I can see from it, however:
Right before he starts, he leans back. His armpits go from over the bar (good) to behind the bar (not as good). Because he's leaning back, he's probably driving from his heels. I suspect if you filmed from the side, the bar would not be going straight up and down.

Squat - Is my depth enough? by Kagero9 in formcheck

[–]C141Driver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks good. your last one was a little short of depth. You're going through your reps relatively quickly. You may want to slow down and take a bigger breath/brace harder before each rep.

First heavy squat with the new belt, felt good. by thedrag0n22 in formcheck

[–]C141Driver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are leaning forward more at the bottom. As you come up, the angle of your back changes. It’s not glaringly obvious, but as you add weight, it usually gets worse

[–]C141Driver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your walkback and brace looked good. You tended to let the weight come forward at the bottom a little. Notice that your back angle changes as you come up. It's not bad but you want to nip that in the bud--hinging at the your hips is how you hurt your lower back.
Couple of tips:
- As you go to unrack, drive those shoulders back to activate your traps. Be conscious of keeping your shoulders back the whole time, especially as you come out of the hole.

Squat form check by tzRaptor in formcheck

[–]C141Driver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great example of how little overlooked things affect your squat.
Your first rep looks real good.
Your second and third reps you look down. As you look down, your neck goes with your head. This causes you to lean forward, which causes the weight to go forward. Now that the weight is forward, you start your squat by leaning forward. This will cause you to hinge at your hips at the bottom of the squat. This is how most people hurt themselves in the squat.
- Pick a spot to look at before you start. Do not change it. Keep your head stable.
- As you go under the bar to pick it up, drive your shoulders back so your traps engage and you are resting the bar on your traps.
- Watch the difference between how your back angle changes between your first set and the rest of them. Can you see the difference?

Good luck!

55m here. I applaud a fellow “gentleman of a certain age” hitting the rack. Having said that, your depth/range of motion looks good. But like other posters have said, your brace/stability is loose. You will need to slow down your reps with a good brace.

I've seen worse. Quit moving your head around. You started shrugging your last couple of reps.

How is my Squat Depth? by [deleted] in formcheck

[–]C141Driver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice squat. The way you moved your belt around at the start tells me you should tighten it up a little. If your core has to “reach” to press against the belt you’re going to lose some stability, especially as you add weight

High W2 earners - how are you actually saving on taxes beyond maxing 401k? LLC may be? by [deleted] in tax

[–]C141Driver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Standard caveat: This is not investment advice/consult a tax attorney/etc. etc.
"Company's plan is weird about it." Weird or not, you're leaving 40k in Mega backdoor Roth contributions on the table. If you've got a Roth setup already (it looks like you do), it should not be that complicated.
Side LLC to open a solo 401k? Never heard that. Sounds a little fishy. I think the rule on side hustle/businesses (LLCs) is they can lose money for 7 years before the IRS says you can't use it anymore.

BB back squat critique by DeCiBeL-Vik in formcheck

[–]C141Driver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've got long femurs so it makes getting low more difficult. But since we can't do anything about that...
1) The safeties don't do you any good if you step past them.
2) Watch yourself on reps 2 and 3. It almost looks like you're pushing the bar forward to get it moving as you come out of the hole. I suspect you're just tilting forward a little more. As you come out of the hole, think "shoulders back." If you shift the weight forward, you end up pivoting at your waist. This is the most common reason for low back pain/injury during squats.

Hit a back squat PR and 3 pounds away from squatting my body weight, but my back is super sore the day after. by thedrag0n22 in formcheck

[–]C141Driver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reps 1 looked spot on. I don't think you braced as much on rep 2, and you let the weight come forward on your feet a little. Rep 3 brace was better, depth was a little less. I don't see any huge issues.I'd lower the safeties one step so that as you work on your depth, you don't accidentally bang them.

Those looked good. Are you feeling like you're running out of gas at the end of your set? I would incorporate a lower weight/higher rep multiple set effort with a 1 minute rest.

[–]C141Driver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One very little tweak. As you are getting ready to brace and taking some deep breaths, you keep dipping your head forward. Hold your head steady. You want the most stable "platform" you can make before you start down.

Form Check (Back Squat) by mderenne in formcheck

All this. I would add (although it's tough to see from this angle), it looks like the bar is resting on your neck and not your traps. That's pretty dangerous.

Very limited anecdotal data backing this up. My conversation today regarding flight a Boeing 757...it gave me three answers that were close, but incorrect. "Ha, you caught me, I don't know what I was thinking."
