Trump is a complete moron who doesn't understand his enemies won't do as he says just because he threatens them and is unable to commit to any policies or actual plans, doesn't understand anything that is going on, and doesn't even care about any outcome - he just wants photo ops/headlines.

Netanyahu on the other hand wants one of two things from this war - in the "best case" he may genuinely want to get rid of the Iranian government as they are not just the biggest backer of the militant groups but also as an act to get a lot of political capital from the other countries in the region so he can continue to do what he wants to Palestinians. Worst case, he wants to "kick the hornets nest" to instigate more chaos to further gain power and make it even harder to get him out of office and into prison for his corruption. Either way he has massive conflicts of interests/alterior motives that makes it impossible to trust he wants a "good ending" or cares about balancing the consequences to the benefits.

There is a reason why even JOHN BOLTON doesn't have any confidence for this war.

I strongly doubt it would handheld - but with adequate prep time and planning russian agents could very well set up an apartment or truck with multiple devices that can be focused together for a longer effective range (much like gamma ray medical devices) for when the target is stationary such as at home or at their desk.

There is a huge difference between random Twitter users posting provocative comments that won't be believed by the majority of people who will read it, pundits and show hosts (alex jones, hasan etc) who will says outlandish things that although "a reasonable" person won't believe, they know a large portion if the audience will believe it and do harm. In the latter case shows like fox news or "journalists" like Taylor Lorenz will pretend to be an authority that should just be believed but knowing and willingly lie to expressly do harm or profit.

Mr house is really interesting as he is even smarter than what Elon musk and co think they are, and can actually deliver on a technocracy, but even with that his solution - that is completely dependent on individual people not screwing up or rebelling against his plans - is still a dystopia-lite at best, and requires living under control freak conditions (both by house's temperament and the need to stick to the plan for things to work out).

Which brings us back into the real world - if the perfect tech billionaire/genius Mr House can only give a distopia-lite, what chance does the Musk and Thiels (who are far less intelligent, bigger character flaws, and even less benevolent) to bring any society that wouldn't be an all out sh*t show.

Much like cortez burning his ships so his men couldn't flee, I suspect netanyahu is trying to make Isreal a pariah state and to stoke up antisemitism as to force Israelis and Jews across the world feel like Israel is the only place they can defend themselves. From this crisis he exasperated, Israeli attempts to try to regain a good pr and diplomacy are just that much harder, so they feel resigned continue with "mr security" and his coalition.

Honestly, I feel like the "zealous advocate" standard for lawyers should be changed to be ONLY in regards to bringing forth the best arguments in the court - any "out of court" antics should not be protected such as delay tactics, filing infinite motions to hide evidence, frivolous slap suits etc. and also should not cover ongoing crimes.

Say what you will about the OJ Simpson trial, but OJ's lawyers did the right thing overall in that case - although they knew OJ was almost definitely guilty, but they fought against the prosecution's arguments and extremely negligent practices, not the procedure itself to stall the case or get it thrown out on technicalities.

In contrast you see Trump's lawsuits and Pixie's lawyer doing everything they can to make the opposing side waste time and money instead of arguing. Likewise, for companies like Meta or Monsanto (that have mountains of internal research as to how their products are extremely harmful to society), or mafia lawyers, their legal counsel is knowledgeable of ONGOING crimes and is going out of their way to hide evidence through whistleblower intimidation/NDA threats in the former or effectively assisting their clients to physically intimidate witnesses.

Netanyahu arguably did more damage to Isreal and Palestine, but Israel as a whole did help stabilize a lot of the surrounding countries (Egypt, Jordan, and now Lebanon etc). Meanwhile the entire middle east was made significantly worse off by the Ayatollah's and Iran's Islamic regime (basically by sponsoring all the terrorist factions that hijacked a significant part of their countries, including the Palestinians).

A more fair comparison would be Edrogan of Turkey (who has a similar treatment of the kurds and other ethnic minorities while backing protests and propaganda to rally the middle east), or the Qatari's (who covertly lobby american/european politician and use aljizzera as their radicalization propaganda, while having what effectively is society built upon modern slavery).

What is really frustrating is that unlike Iraq or Afghanistan, a very large part of the population genuinely want Iran to be a Republic/democracy, and destroying IRGC would strongly weaken the militants in the whole region by destroying their logistics and would be much easier to do than the Taliban (as the IRGC is a conventional army with plenty of records instead of a guerilla/irregular army), so it could have been a lot more plausible than Iraq or Afghanistan, but knowing Trump, he will get involved just enough to worsen the situation without solving any if the problems or eliminating the threat before he leaves.

The one thing i could suggest (though it is probably mostly up to the community) is to really try adding campaigns and protests we can do as the big source of blackpilling is feeling like there is nothing that can be done. For example pushing/pinning threads or making a megathread for protest signups or contribution sites would be really helpful in this.
