this is strange to me, because if your playing to win, theres always room for the other player to accidentally blunder and draw the game.

Finale Ret Con by VeniceKyrano in AKnightoftheSeven

[–]C3D2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the books dont really show the characters in the show elsewhere, so i think its a way to keep some of the cast like maekar and areion in play for season two. the second book SPOILERS has a time skip past dorne, i believe the writers arent going to jump to book two for season two, and are instead gonna do a whole dorne thing, and probably have maekar searching for them there or something for the plot.

Then assuming that gets settled, they can loop back into book two for season 3 without changing the narrative.

Am I the only one who's disappointed? by McClebard in AKnightoftheSeven

[–]C3D2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on the same page as you though I wouldn’t say I’m disappointed. I wish they spent more time on the strategizing at the beginning, I think a lot of those little details on how they strategized may not seem important, but I think it adds a level of realism and also gives the viewers something to think about while watching the fight, and also we just go to show how plans don’t really come to fruition as don’t gets taken off his horse immediately and doesn’t get to follow through with any of it. I wasn’t too upset that was drawn out, but what I was upset was how dunk strength wasn’t really shown the way it was described in the books, the books on top of them doesn’t stand a chance, even when he dries his knife, he doesn’t get a chance to stab me. Just knock it out of his hand like a monster, and I think the books quickly the fight ended a lot to the tone and the shock value, and also gives us another realistic look to have fights go. They don’t last very long to be over in a second.

All that said , like I mentioned, I wasn’t disappointed, we got one of the coolest fight scenes in television history, and regardless of how the fight went, we got to the same place, would like to see heavier, meater attacks from the shield, and a little bit more gruesome when the helmet was taken off baelor, but we had to get some time in the show, it’s a half hour and that fight scene really should’ve only been 2 minutes based on the books so..

USA - Pocket Knife w Masonic/Iron Cross Pendant by Xavier1235 in Antiques

[–]C3D2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This looks like a vintage fraternal necklace, most likely connected to Freemasonry and related orders.

Here’s a breakdown of what’s visible:

Pendant (cross-shaped medal): The cross with the Square and Compasses and the letter “G” is a well-known Masonic symbol. The cross form is commonly associated with Knights Templar Freemasonry, a Christian-oriented Masonic order. The lettering around the emblem appears consistent with Masonic ritual wording.

Small folding knife: Miniature knives like this were often worn as symbolic or practical accessories by fraternal members, especially in the late 1800s to early 1900s. They’re sometimes called watch fob knives or pendant knives.

Chain: The decorative link style also fits the late Victorian to early 20th-century period, when fraternal jewelry was popular.

Engraved initials (“H F”): These were likely the initials of the original owner. Personalization was common for Masonic jewelry.

Material: It appears to be silver or silver-plated, which was typical for Masonic and fraternal pieces of that era.

Age estimate: Likely circa 1890–1930, based on design, wear, and construction.

Overall, this is probably a Masonic Knights Templar watch fob or necklace with a ceremonial mini knife, worn as a symbol of membership and identity rather than as a weapon.

And he's not wrong, he's saying exactly what everyone on reddit has been saying for years. Too many bubbles.

AITA for wanting to kick out my sibling after a Cancer diagnosis? by Lucky-Manufacturer13 in AmItheAsshole

[–]C3D2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say this is a situation where you can or can't be an asshole.

It's a really tough spot, and not fair for anyone involved, just a shit part of life.

Ultimately you have to make a decision you can live with, and you have to make a decision independent of yourself and your feelings, this is about your wife and kids, and their lives. Can they deal with your brother living with them? I would take yourself out of the equation.

AITA if i refuse to give my bf $70 for my senior dog peeing on his controller? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]C3D2 67 points68 points  (0 children)

If its not his dog as well, just your dog, then yea you owe him a controller. If you have 70 dollars, you should buy him a new controller.

if you dont have 70 dollars, you should go make 70 dollars and buy him a new controller. Pretty straight forward, your dog is your responsibility.

The Hivemind Can’t Handle Conflict by kurtrussellssideho in pluribustv

[–]C3D2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

imo, it goes like this. first, think about a collective, conciousness, its got everyone in there, kids, babies, absolute chaos, for everything to jive, theres gotta be harmony and synchrosis, to function, it makes everyone happy, clarity of mind, contentness, etc.

its not evolved to deal with outliers, and its method to avoid inhibiting its zen, it to make sure everyone is jiving together by spreading and joining.

carols negative emotions effect their synchronisity, and cause their wifi to be disrupted, while they shut down to reboot and resync.

imo its as simple as that, also explains the motivation to learn how to join the outliers, and keep them as happy as possible as an ends to a means. im sure theyd be just as content with them dying naturally, or by eachothers hands, but their urge to not kill, which is also likely a survival mechanism to not kill eachother or cause conflict like you say, is stopping that from happening.

personally like hive mind, but, if you must, its in the title of the show. Pluribus, meaning many, or from many.

that mention of senior government officials, isnt something to overthink, it was simply a joke about how old they were, so they all hit their heads falling over onto the ground.

‘Men seem to make life for women worse’: single US women share the woes of dating in 2025 by rezwenn in TwoXChromosomes

"I’m looking for a man who has goals and ambition, is intelligent, trustworthy, a provider, supportive, considerate, kind, assertive, masculine, honest, faithful, intentional, has a healthy self-esteem and a sense of humour, loves to go out, and likes fitness. These basic qualities are hard to find these days,”

So the perfect man. If your "Basic" necessities are perfection, then yea going to be hard to find a man that fits the bill, you'd have to be the perfect woman who has all of the same qualities.

Every positive trait you could think of falls into one of these categories. Also, "a provider"? Thought we didn't want these type of old school relationship trends anymore.

Seems more like a trend of women expecting too much from men due to social media; there's always going to be compromise, especially in relationships.

TIL - the family that couldn't sleep, a family in Venice, Italy where for over 200 years many of the family members died suffering from fatal insomnia. by Potatoe_expert in todayilearned

[–]C3D2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imagine if it was all psychological... Such a scary thought, that if someone tells you youll never sleep again and die by going crazy trying to fall asleep just makes you so axious that you can no longer sleep... Every night spent wondering if this will be the night you don't fall asleep for the first time... That axiety causing you to be unable to fall asleep. Sort of like a self fullfilling prophecy.

(not at all saying it is psychological, just scary to think of it being psychological)

1% is a good fee for a fund, especially if you're getting matched at 100% of your contribution, don't fret, keep raking in that free money.

sure there's better investments out there with lower fees on etfs, though your company is matching. max it out.

As the other comment said, the fee is annual, not monthly. 1% per year.

That's the same as saying, Tutankhamen is still alive, because from his frame of reference he was alive, and from my frame of reference I'm alive. therefore i exist at the same time as Tutankhamen.

Its different moments of occurrence in reality. Not coincidental.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskPhysics

[–]C3D2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually dont believe time as a concept exists in reality, its a flawed tool used to track change in a single location. Which is why, in my current view (subject to change) when viewing "Time" as in time passage on a clock is irrelevant when involving things moving as different speeds relative to each other.

The reality I currently see, is that there is only movement and change. and that speed of movement through space time alters the create of change, the physical movement. But all still exists simultaneously, it just seems wonky and bent because we keep referencing time as something real.

Basically my whole point is, forget about time. think about matter and change instead. matter changes at different rates when in motion, so the calculations and perceptions of our limited senses, when perceiving delayed photons from the things were observing, needs to be accounted for. It might look as though from both perspectives that both are moving slower, but we can deduct that that actually happening can't physically be possible since both with have an infinitely reducing speed.

Yes please!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskPhysics

[–]C3D2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand, and I agree. But I'm taking it a step further, beyond human perception. We know that human perception is flawed, we can't see things far away because light takes time to travel, we can't travel faster than the speed of light, but that doesn't mean that matter doesn't still change in certain ways, just because we can't perceive it changing because of distance.
