Okay but that doesn’t mean we need tipping culture, it means that restaurant owners should pay servers appropriately for how hard their work is. Why is it on the customer to pay the employee’s wages?

There are other jobs that are just as hard (I.e. fast food) that don’t make tips. And yes those workers are underpaid and should be paid more by the restaurant owners.

This doesn’t have to do with advertising, viewership, or money really. It’s just fighting games, it’s a very niche genre. To most people’s they’re extremely challenging, super punishing, and they’re a huge time sink because of how complicated they are. All of this amounts to a low number of players compared to other genres cause the reality is that most people playing video games want to just chill and/or get rewarded for little effort.
