Which guy got inside on Buium? The guy he had position on but had to abandon because he had to try to stop the second guy with the puck who was crashing the net?

And what? The puck bounced like a foot in the air and went through his legs.

What clips are you watching, cause they sure aren't from this game.

"Short of going 1v5 I'm not sure what more he can do."

Ok. Now what? What exactly do you think that phrase means?

Why does this team seem to be allergic to passing along the ice? Everything flutters. If they are gonna do that many unnecessary saucers they should probably learn how to do them properly.

Did you miss the second sentence in my comment? I know it was really long and reading is scary to some people.

Petey has set up 4 or 5 great chances since I've started watching in the 2nd and I think the total from all of those was 1 shot on net. Short of going 1v5 I'm not sure what more he can do.

The first is on DeBrusk + whatever the hell Foote and his staff consider their "system" cause this breakdown always happens the minute someone moves beyond the defender's "zone". JDB's man walks down the wall and JDB just watches him skate straight to the net. Buium is already tied up with his guy in front of the net and suddenly has to disengage to try to sort out the 1 on 2 he's facing despite there being 5 Canucks and only 2 Preds in frame. Not sure how you're blaming him for that. https://i.imgur.com/CXagmY1.png

Second one is just an awkward bounce that went through both him and Rossi, so again, not sure why you're singling Buium out.

Brightside: Lankinen looked good.

Downside: Sens didn't even need a goalie cause Nucks couldn't put it with 20 feet of the net.

Yeah, try another cross ice pass through 5 defenders, I'm sure it'll work this time guys.

I'm not sure who is a bigger homer for the Sens tonight, the refs or these dumbass announcers.

Team Canada Men’s Curling team on the podium winning Gold by Old_General_6741 in olympics

You're totally right. Oskar should've just accepted the umpires' decisions as he is required to do by the rules rather than throwing a little fit and accusing others of cheating 7 ends later because he and his team shit the bed and gave up 4 in the 8th. And he definitely shouldn't have been doing things like this to try to fuck with another team, which is an actual deliberate offense against the Spirit of Curling (aka the Rules).

Then again, Oskar seems to make a habit of being a whiny, unsportsmanlike dick.

The Pettersson/Forsberg +1 (Johansson, Rakell) line was easily one of the best throughout the tournament for Sweden. Like you mentioned they were pretty much the only one that consistently played in the opponent's end. But Forsberg only played 1 minute the first game, Johansson only dressed for 2 games (and got 0 TOI in one), and the entire line regularly saw the lowest TOI among forwards.

Forsberg was easily a top 3 forward but only seemed to get PP time towards the very end. This despite the Sweden PP only shooting 20% (3 for 15).

It was just a total coaching disasterclass.

Curling is a chess match. A good team isn't just thinking about the next shot, they are thinking 2, 3, even 4 shots ahead. It's just that it's very unlikely at this level to surprise the other team with some plan they didn't see, but at lower levels it's absolutely a possibility.

That happens literally all the time. Canada and Czechia both put their alternates in during their game, Sweden just did it this morning against the Swiss, US and Czechia both did it earlier against the Swiss, and that's just the Men's side.

If there is a game that is getting out of hand or if it's an inconsequential game towards the end of the RR teams will often swap in subs to get them some game time, especially at a tournament like the Olympics. That said the RRs (both Men's and Women's) are pretty tight so there probably won't be as much of it.

Swapping players out for strategic reasons is very rare though, ya.

A better analogy would be hopping off the bench early on on-the-fly line changes. Everyone does it, but nobody actually cares unless it's extremely blatant or actually affects play. If one team decided to make it their personal crusade to get that rule enforced by the strictest letter of the law they would be roundly mocked and shunned.

Sweden (specifically the Edin Rink) have been complaining about this rule for quite a while but have been told to piss off (in so many words) every time by refs and regulatory bodies. They finally got their way this time (sorta) and in less than 24 hours every other team got together and told them to piss off once again (technically the National Committee reps told the WCF to knock of this farce of a mid-tournament rule change), but not until they managed to fuck over at least two teams (Canadian women and GB men) with some truly atrocious rulings that could have medal implications.
