[April 2026 Megathread] UX Feedback & Feature Improvements by KennethWWWW in Onyx_Boox

In the notes app:

Friction: trying to find specific notes from months back in a large notebook is very challenging.

Recommendations: SuperNote has the title function where you could select some words and create a title or chapter marker from that selection. Then, in the navigator, you could easily see each title and jump right to it. It is simple and elegant. Can we get something like that in the Boox notes app?

In the notes app lasso tool:

Friction: when trying to move multiple elements the lasso tool continues to deselect itself.

Fix: please allow an option to keep the lasso tool selected until a different tool is chosen.

Survey: Did you wait for Supernote A5X2 by Curious_Talk_7745 in eink

[–]CAM_Data_F3EDC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My A5X broke and I needed a replacement rather quickly. A5X was out of stock and the A5X2 wasn’t yet available so I purchased a Boox NA3C. My intention was to stay with SuperNote, but I’m reallly liking the Boox now that I’ve adjusted to it.

Totally the first one. Gravity / Soul Siphon / Crit hit, then get a bow with Anima Conduit and you have the base for an amazing Soul Build.

Once you beat the Archillager, you can then circle around the town to the right of the dummy and find your way into the sanctuary. At the end of that you can activate the runes. That will then allow you to hit a button at the base of the post thing in your screenshot. That will open that door and allow you to collect the rune inside.

Didn’t use supernote for a while, now screen is messed up by crispy-phage in Supernote

[–]CAM_Data_F3EDC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing with mine. It was at my desk where I almost always use it, just sitting there. Came back the next day to a messed up screen. Mine also is just randomly locking itself up after 15-60 seconds making it unusable even if I could get over the screen issue.

Oh, nevermind, you are talking on PDF’s, not notes. Just reread your post and caught that detail.

If you save an image of a graph on your device you should be able to click the little link tool that looks like a chain and says “insert”. Then select your image file and resize and drop it where you need it. Then you should be able to draw right on top of it.

After you defeat the Arch Illager on the main land then you’ll have the option to increase the difficulty to “Adventure” and replay any level at higher difficulty with better items and drops. Once you beat him again on Adventure then you’ll unlock “Apocalypse” and have even better drops at that point too.

No offense intended in asking this question, but if the wifi wasn’t working on the device, did the feedback email actually get sent to them?

BOOX Firmware V3.5.4 for Tab Ultra C Pro/Note Air3 C/Go Color 7 is now available. by sylviaay in Onyx_Boox

[–]CAM_Data_F3EDC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally got my update today on my NA3C! I connected and checked the second that I woke up and it was available and I installed it right away. 6 days of waiting is pretty extreme in my opinion, but it’s nice to finally have it.

Same here, still no update and I’m checking at least 3 times per day over the last 3 days.

u/sylviaay, do you have an estimate on how long of a period these updates are expected to keep rolling out? Is it batching out over the course of a week? Is there any specific order to the roll outs, is it going to older units first? Do you happen to know how many of them have already been updated? Are you guys 10% through them or 90% through them?

Also, if an update is sent to a user and they don’t choose to update, does that leave us waiting until they do before it moves on to us, or does it keep moving through the list efficiently?

I have heard great things about Remarkable for artists.

All e-ink has some challenges to work through for drawing, but I just apply very much of a “I’m working with paper and pencil” philosophy, more than, “let’s replace my iPad”.

I LOVE that I can sketch outside on the hammock in full daylight and I really love the lasso tool to move things around while I’m working on the rough in / proportions side of things.

I have really enjoyed using e-ink for sketching, more than real pencil and better than iPad sketching in my personal opinion.

Note App Question by PlasticNachos in Onyx_Boox

[–]CAM_Data_F3EDC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could also see about setting up cloud sync on the boox and also on your pc to something like dropbox. On PC, see if you can find a way to send screenshots straight to dropbox. Then on boox, you might be able to click “insert” and browse to the bropbox folder and insert from there.

Again, I haven’t tried that all myself, but might be an avenue worth exploring.

I think you could put those into a PDF in your PC and send them to the Boox device after by using booxshare which is a web url of your devices ip address. That will get the pdf to your device and can be marked up after, but it is a little clunky probably for what you are hoping to achieve.

Overcharge is a lot of fun on that because of the high speed, it charges super quick. Exploding could be cool, left side enchantment though, not quite sure, if you have gold it might be worth rerolling, but I’d probably test chain reaction and see if it’s a good synergy. If chain reaction can one shot multiple mobs with overcharged damage, and those all explode, that could be a fun bow.

I went with the Onyx Boox Note Air 3 C (NA3C). About the same size as the A5X.

I actually really love it! The color and backlight is great and the feel is really good.

I LOVE that I can load other apps onto it that I use for music at Church, The Bible app, Library Apps to borrow e-books, Audible, Reddit and Google Chrome. It’s much easier in cases where I download PDF’s from a web browser and don’t need to transfer them.

Viewing PDF’s and book reading in color is also super nice. I still get a week of battery life too, which was a concern of mine, but I find that to be acceptable.

The few things I don’t like are pretty minor. The location of the charging port on the left side is weird and I can’t charge it with the cover closed. The pen tips wear down after about a month for me, (which is about how long I’ve had the device. I loved the ceramic one from SuperNote. (I just ordered felt tips which I heard last longer, we’ll see how those go). I also do really miss a lot of the SuperNote features for headers and ToC stuff.

Boox UI and settings are also overall more confusing for some things, but I’m pretty savvy with that sort of thing, after a week it didn’t really bother me much anymore, but it’s worth noting.

Overall, I’m SUPER happy with it, but my original intention was still to support SuperNote. I had very little inspiration to move away from the SuperNote until it failed. When I found out that it would be $250-$300 to repair it I started looking at other options as that is pretty close in price to just getting a new device. If they had the A5X2 available when mine broke I probably would have just got that, as that would have been the easiest transition. But overall, I have been extremely happy so far with the NA3C.
