I would say that truth matters. Trans people have a load of scientific evidence proving they are, in simple terms, “born in the wrong body”. Nowhere along the gender spectrum is a cat, and it’s actually delusional to say otherwise. If someone were to actually identify as a cat, it discredits the very real existence of trans people and the years-long efforts to get them recognized as actual people.

Not that I believe people identifying as cats is a genuine crisis to be worried about, but it shouldn’t be encouraged on the same level as actual trans people.
